"I often dine and drink at this restaurant, but was a little let down during my recent visit. Our table was squeezed between two walls, causing us to constantly shift the table to accommodate other diners. The menu offered a set 2 or 3 course option, which was not ideal for me as I usually do not indulge in starters or desserts. I felt obligated to choose one from the set menu, but ended up not enjoying the starter and leaving it uneaten. However, the main course was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was disheartened to see that the price of pints had increased significantly, reaching the levels of hotel or major city prices at £6 per pint. Despite these drawbacks, I still like this place and will return, although not as frequently due to the increased prices."

"Without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had. Pre booked a table for 5 for dinner on Saturday evening and when we arrived they didn't seem that busy. We were shown to our table relatively quick. We then had to sit there for around 20 minutes until someone came to take our food order. I was a bit surprised that there was only 2 steaks on the menu unless you gave 24hr notice.We then had to ask could we order a drink. It wasn't a difficult order 1 beer and 4 Fanta. We waited a further 15 for the drinks to come which were wrong also the glasses were disgusting with lipstick and previous drink residue on them.we eventually got all that sorted and the food came. I had ordered a mixed grill which was £28 I asked for my steak to be cooked medium. The plates were literally just in front of us 2 minutes when a waitress came and asked was everything OK. As I began to work my way through the food I eventually got to the 8oz steak which was very well done and extremely hard to chew so it was left. When everyone had finished they came to clear the plates and I told the waitress that I had asked for medium and not well done and to my surprise she immediately got on the defensive asking did someone come and see if everything was OK I told her yes but it was just after the food was brought. 2 minutes later the owner of the place came out of the kitchen with my steak on a small plate and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that that's the way a medium steak should look but there was not even a slight tinge of pink. He then started to tell me that I didn't know how steak was cooked. I then mentioned the glasses and he said didn't they get replaced so what's the problem. At this point t my kids were getting pretty upset so I just asked for the bill so we could leave. To be honest it was very intimidating to have a well over 6ft man stand over you arguing over a piece of steak. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone."

"We hadn’t visited in years, so we made a reservation for Thursday the 31st. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated at our table within a minute. The restaurant had been beautifully renovated, and the ambiance was both welcoming and charming. We were seated on the left side in the bar area, which was a cozy little spot with soft lighting. The food selection was amazing, and the service was excellent. This place is truly fantastic! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the staff is incredibly friendly—they genuinely prioritize customer satisfaction. The food was delicious, and considering the prices, it's absolutely worth it. I can’t wait to book again!"

"totally excellent, amazing service received from James, in our party we had one person who is allergic to Onion, the staff, chef and management made sure that all her requirements were met.......5 start service with 5 star food, such nice people..............thank you so much for making our visit so enjoyable , even down to the Happy Birthday music and hat..............would recommend without a doubt."

"to eat for a drink, but not be back. in the future escort was too table. but then you had to climb up with all the others and wait for the table to get their warm food from the menu. but drinks, scones, traybakes. and why do they say the table number when I had to carry the tablet myself on the table? So that was the table service or not? While many people were behind the theke, it needed an eternality to get a group. Maybe because the hot eating was put in the microwave (I am not sure that I want to know why) or take it people to serve a person. when we finally served, we have a list of scenes, but with the time the guy went to lift them, the choice of my wife was gone. no idea how no one was before us, and it only took seconds to go back. the one cannon we got was in order, but every suggestion to be a top notch scoone for our vote in a contest was never happened. If I'm looking for dinner next time, I'll go on."
