"This is a lovely little pub in the Cotswolds, situated in a lovely village I’ve known well for years and it’s worth a visit if you just want to visit a quaint little village that has loads of buildings with Cotswold stone buildings, to me this is one of the loveliest parts of the Uk building wise. We were there to visit family and do a walk followed by a pub lunch. The Sunday lunch was good, but I wouldn’t say amazing, I chose wrong? I went for the pork and should have gone for the beef. The pork was slightly over cooked and chewy, but the beef looked cooked to perfection and juicy, my wife went for the beef and I had food envy. The best part about the meal to me was the carrots and parsnips followed by the cauliflower cheese. The potatoes were nice and nicer than most pubs but I thought they were a little over done. All in all it was a nice experience, the staff were friendly and the prices were standard."

We had a lovely meal at The Sun Inn whilst staying in Hook Norton for our honeymoon. The roast dinner was delicious however, being gluten-free, I was not able to have the homemade Yorkshire Pudding or the Cauliflower Cheese which made the meal a little small. It would have been nice to have had an extra slice of meat and perhaps a little more veg to compensate for this. The quality of the food was excellent, fast service, and lovely staff.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS went in for lunch to be greeted by unfriendly, grumpy female teen too busy texting her BF to care. Asked her if she was happy, was I speaking Chinese? Told her to tell her face! Long story, .... more grumpyness, poor attitude and dirty looks. I was eventually rude and sarcastic, sorry. Moral of the story ... if you are in CUSTOMER SERVICE, hospitality and the pub business, do not employ clueless, highly strung, hormonal TEENS. Owner of pub attacked me like a woman posessed for being rude to her staff. Oddly, a bit of a turn on lol. Mental, in desperate need of more HRT. Customer is always right, manners cost nothing. Food drinks: Woeful

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
