"Attended the monthly beer tasting event at The Snug, hosted by Barry Bitter. We had an absolute blast, with 7 new beers to try, all varying in strengths and types. Barry is a highly entertaining host, whilst the snug staff seamlessly ensure that a high level of service is delivered not only from the bar, but by providing delicious snacks (homemade hummus and breads this time!! and ensuring that glasses are replenished along with your beer for the next tasting. Their beer selection is plentiful with lovely draft options available or a well stocked Barry Bitter selection fridge that has been picked from previous beer tasting events. Inside is so cosy and gives that homely feel without being outdated and stuffy. The walls are full of interesting art and snapshots of the various live music offerings that have been hosted by the snug over the years. You're seriously missing out of you don't consider taking a hobble down the cobbles to this amazing hidden gem"

Not for us a very limited menu nothing that tempted us to stay was more o a bar than a cafe we came away.

Fabulous staff great service and prices. The coffee is fantastic it is the best in Atherton leigh tyldesley and bolton in my opinion. Also the chunky cheese on is worth 5 stars as well. So to reiterate fabulous staff with great service

This charming little restaurant is tucked away in an alley off Market Street. The staff is genuine and helpful, and the coffee is top-notch. I'm picky about my food, and I was impressed by the freshness of the dishes and the homemade cakes. I highly recommend this hidden gem. Voir le carte

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with excellent service. It was our first time dining out since the pandemic and we felt safe and comfortable. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff made us feel at home. Thank you to everyone for a great evening. Angela and Mark.

We attended as part of a record store pop up, and it was our first visit to The Snug. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere, with live vinyl DJing and pop up record sale. Really cosy inside and the atmosphere was brilliant. Enjoyed a few selection of wheat beers which were nice. I will certainly return to this gem

I have visited this restaurant several times and we all absolutely love it! The atmosphere is delightful and the cafe is incredibly charming and distinctive. We also went for afternoon tea around Christmas time, which was wonderful. The staff are very friendly and I will definitely be returning once it reopens! 5 stars. Voir le carte

George the spaniel and I popped in for breakfast one sunny Saturday. There was a great menu to choose from and what I chose was well presented, tasty and I ended with an empty plate and a full stomach. The Snug is children, dog and really everyone friendly. There was a great atmosphere even early in the morning. Well recommended

What a gem! This lovely venue is tucked away down a courtyard off Market Street. Dogs are welcome at the outside tables. All the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, They serve Vegan Options which are highly recommended and great coffee and tea selections. If you feel like something stronger you have an array of great beer selections and a choice of cocktails. On certain evenings you can also get to catch live music acts.

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
