The staff is friendly and there is a great variety of beers and spirits. It's a perfect spot for an afternoon drink if you are in the area.

Great, cosy, friendly and welcoming pub near the campsite on the outskirts of York. Great selection of local beers, dog friendly and very welcoming staff.

What a lovely little find- local pub run by locals. Some evenings very quiet others full of local people and the local ‘ghosts’. Serves great York Gin and lovely atmosphere.

The restaurant offers a good variety of ales. The female server was welcoming. The interior is pleasant and has a cozy atmosphere. The beer garden is enjoyable. However, the prices are on the higher side.

This is without doubt one of the gems of York. We were staying at the caravan and motorhome site and visited numerous pubs in York. The Slip was the best, closely followed by the Swan, both the nearest pubs to the site.

During our six-day city break in York, we had the pleasure of visiting The Slip Inn on Clementhorpe. After enjoying a pint at the Swan, we stopped by this charming pub for some cask ales. The pub boasts a recently renovated interior with interesting fixtures and a lovely outdoor terrace where the toilets are located. It supports traditional pub games like dominoes, darts, and cribbage. During our visit, the pub was bustling with activity as people were enjoying a game of dominoes while watching the African nation semi-finals. Before starting an eight days holiday in Prague my twin brother Stephen and I decided to have a weeks holiday in York taking in all the great sites to be found in this city and visit all the great pubs that York is justifiably famous for. Without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite pubs to visit on any holiday I take to York is The Slip Inn Pub,an authentic back street boozer oozing old world charm,its a pub that always has a great selection of real ale's and cider's served by staff who know how to keep a good beer or cider and are very knowledgeable about their drinks on offer.
