"Kindness, patience and really good food and service. Pre-booked a quiet table so my family, including my dementia affected 77 yr old Father, could enjoy Sunday brunch and paint a bit of pottery beforehand. The service, the kindness, the humanity, was a treasured delight. Of course the pottery painting is fun too and our 7yr old daughter was matching her granddad brushstroke for brushstroke! The brie ham and onion relish toasted sandwich was delish (not my first time), Mums chicken caesar wrap was a triumph and everyone said what a truly delightful time we all had. "The venue is lovely however .... if you want more than a cup of tea forget it ..... the service is poor and confusing, it took an era for rolls which were cooked from frozen.... when they did arrive they were burnt to a...crisp ..... the place was quiet so I dread to think what the food or service would be like if busy.... it was a lot of money for burnt food"

"This lovely establishment is not one to miss out on! The Spotted Dog has recently reopened, having the chance to meet the new owner Neil whilst we was dining was a great experience to speak to him and hear his visions with where to take this quirky country pub. The interior is decorated spot on to fit the style and feel, making it warm and inviting. The ambience was met with music suitably tailored to the guests. Me and my partner called last minute hoping for a Sunday roast and were pleasantly surprised when they was more than happy to accommodate us in the kitchen, even though they'd just shut the kitchen great touch! (Thank you again! . Choosing the sharing platter Sunday roast for 2 which came with all the meats and trimmings was a great option for us which we thoroughly enjoyed! We don't see this option at many pubs! The food was delicious and we couldn't fault our meal or the service we received. This was our first visit and as a local spot to us we will certainly be back in the future"

"Excellent freshly cooked food, none of the big chain frozen and reheated servings dished up in other restaurants. Prices may seem a little high but quality is what you pay for. The pizza had all fresh ingredients and came out larger than expected. Tiramisu was delicious. Would strongly recommend if looking for place to eat out in Dunmow"

"When looking for Little Dunmow, we stoped in Great Dunmow for a bit of orientation, and a leg stretch. The first impression of the town is the number of coffee shops, cafe, so this place had to stand out. The attaction was a cushion on the chairs outside this was a good choice Friendly staff, coffees, teas and everything else seems to be made to order Good coffee"
