"When we saw this place it looked like it would provide a top quality flawless meal. In reality almost everything was just ok. The food was OK, the service was OK at best, as it we waited quite for our food, and our sons food was 5 minutes after the rest of us got our food. Even the starter, a simple garlic bread took about 15 minutes to come. The setting was nice but the atmosphere was, again just OK. The pizzas are probably the better value for money when it comes to portion size as the Risotto and Lobster Ravioli could have definitely done to be a bit bigger. This was the most expensive family meal we've ever had and left feeling like we could have gone somewhere better for our money. The service charge was added to the bill without us being asked and I'm not rude enough to ask to remove it. And in any case, the only thing that was better than average were the young waitresses whom were polite, attentive and courteous. I sincerely hope my service charge goes to them as they deserve it the most. This is a nice place, dont get me wrong but I have been to better restaurants in this sort of price bracket in the past and have enjoyed them more. If the prices were lower I'd say we'd come back but I'm afraid we most likely won't return unless we get a good deal."

Used to go here a lot a few years ago. Haven't visited in a while but the food was truly awful. Staff didn't seem bothered about it so it must be par fair the course. Will not be going again.

We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant. The food was amazing and even though we added two more people last minute, they were able to accommodate us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We were looked after very well at The Red Cat today. We were a party of ten and we were served quickly and efficiently and were all able to eat our lunch at the same time. Birthday cakes that we had brought along with us were ceremoniously brought to our table by the lovely staff with candles lit. Midweek lunchtime pizza or pasta deal £8) made the food exceptionally good value. We're all looking forward to returning again soon.

Takeaway not good at all. Chicken pate consistency, sloppy, did not look nice to eat it so binned it. The prawns that we ordered were few and far between. The calzone crust was extremely thick around 1 inch and when I cut into it, there was no sauce inside. Just some random pieces of meat with cheese. Absolutely bland could not eat it. The Penne carbonara was tasteless and greasy. Would never eat again all the food was sadly binned

Cold food, cold plate and cold premises. Sunday roast was Ok but not sirloin as advertised, poor selection of veg and we were told the yorkshire pudding hadn 't yet arrived . Suspect that there was a problem with the chef. Complained about lack of heating but was met with a continental type shrug. Meal not cheap at £40 for 2 roast dinners inc drinks plus hefty service charge. We used to be regular visitors but, based on our last three visits, will not be returning as the place has definitely deteriorated.

The restaurant was cold and so was the plate. Previously, the dish was nicely presented with vegetables on the side and a full plate. However, on this occasion, it consisted of small slices of beef that seemed to come from a catering pack, as they were all the same size. The carrots were hard, Brussels sprouts were substituted for the usual broccoli, and there was no Yorkshire pudding available as they had run out. With a cup of tea for one and an alcohol-free beer, the total came to £40, with a hefty service charge added on top. Although the charge could have been removed, we felt hesitant to ask as it may have appeared stingy. As longtime regular customers, we have been disappointed with o...

Visited with friends and I can’t express how disappointed I was. The starters were just okay but lacked finesse, but the main of chicken kebab was absolutely terrible. It was the driest chicken kebab I have ever eaten placed on an uninspiring bed of iceberg lettuce and tomato, with half a dry pitta bread and a portion of chips that were, again, dry? I’m not sure where the recipe for tzatziki came from, but having lived in Greece for a few years I can say it wasn’t from there! I had expected more for the near £19. It was so bad, I left most of it, which for anyone that knows me is unheard of. The chocolate brownie also had been microwaved for too long and had a very strange taste about it. Th...

"Have never eaten here, but only ever heard positive feed back. Cousins birthday, I do not live in the area so rang to order some bottles of bubbles for the table. Only writing this as experience was very upsetting and I am still shocked. I spoke with a lady, explained cousin having birthday dinner (I did get name wrong that table was ordered under) so wanted to make sure was correct table. She said I was loud and shouting. I have a loud voice (nodules on voice box). But its also naturally loud as well. I do not raise my voice, it is not my style also my voice loud enough. It doesnt need raising. We finally worked out correct table, I then thought she had gone to get payment machine. But she just hung up. So I called back, another waitress answered. I explained previous call and again asked if I could pay over phone for bottles of bubbles. I was asked to wait a moment whilst she fetched the machine. Whilst I waited I had to listen to what herself and the first waitress were saying about me. Won 't lie, it was very upsetting and I 'm quite a tough cookie. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional as well as hurtful. When she came back on phone I politely told her I heard all their conversation, she went quiet and apologised then asked if still wanted the bubbles. I politely replied 'I don 't think so '. Not sure what to take away from this experience. At least cover phone or put on hold if your going to talk badly about someone who wishes to spend money whom you have never met............"
