"The location and beautiful building are great and the car park is a work in progress but having parking right outside in the Bailgate area is a definite bonus. Go up hill for some nice relaxing pubs and restaurants or downhill for more of the same but busier and louder. The breakfast provided is varied with the full English using noticeably quality ingredients and just the right amount. We only found our disappointment with the room. If you want one of the rooms with the stained glass windows or a view, make sure when you book that your allocated one. The room we were in had a very small window which looked out onto the gulley between two pitch roofs so our view was roof tiles. We were also surprised to find a section of the bathroom floor stuck down/together with gaffa tape. The room was very warm, to the point that even with the window wound right open we still slept on top of the covers."

What can i say other than what a fantastic hotel to stay in. The hotel was amazing, the breakfast was delicious and the staff and communication was a pleasure. No hesitation in going back again Fantastic

This small hotel close to Lincoln Cathedral is agreeable in many ways, and its staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, the building is perched on the edge of a hillside and is not easy for mobility impaired travellers nor is there any public transport access. Te hotel has no evening restaurant service but there are good eating places nearby if you're happy to walk along steep cobbled streets.

Really enjoyed my stay in Lincolnshire, and The Old Palace really complimented it. Lovely vibe and a minutes walk away from the town and Cathedral. Gotta love that Steep hill. Our room was very peaceful and had an amazing view. And compliments to the friendly and helpful staff for making our weekend getaway that much more welcoming. Definitely recommended. Hopefully will return to Lincoln again in the near future, and would love to stay in The Old Palace again.

Wow! where do I start… This gem of a hotel is just amazing! Excellent location for visiting Lincoln and free parking a bonus. Super friendly helpful staff, the lady on reception is lovely. We only stayed in a double room and this did not disappoint. spotlessly clean so cosy. Excellent tea tray coffee machine Hot croissants for breakfast delivered to your door was so quirky and cute. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be returning and plan to book the suite !

We had one of the larger rooms which was tastefully decorated and well appointed. The receptionist was lovely, she greeted us at the gate and made sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to the door at the appointed time and consisted of a croissant and yogurt with butter and jam.plenty of orange juice tea and coffee including a Nespresso machine. A quiet interesting and very nice place to stay with private secure parking right in the centre of the historic cathedral quarter.

We stayed one night on a recent visit to Lincoln and was so impressed with this B&B! Its perfectly located on Steep Hill but with a private gated car park and set back from the main strip so wonderfully quiet. It is a beautiful building with some amazing original features such as the stained glass and vaulted windows yet the rooms have all the mod cons. I have seen comments about it being cold but if anything we found the rooms to be toasty warm and actually had to open the windows this was in windy March! Breakfast was also amazing, lots of choice and the cooked breakfast was delicious. Above all the staff were so lovely and could not be more welcoming. We loved our visit and would def stay...

Not a 'hotel ' but a rather expensive bed and breakfast. Lovely old converted chapel but very cold. Radiators not working. Window blind not working which meant that people could see in from nearby path. Breakfast looked nothing like photos on website and was rather poor, small portions and with strange rules eg. if you have tomato you can 't have beans and vice versa........Shower located over bath, high sided bath with no non slip mat very dangerous for older people. No room service or bar, no evening meal, no hotel facilities yet we booked as a 'hotel ' (still have the emailed recipt which states 'hotel ' ...... We paid nearly 400 pounds for two nights terribly over priced to be honest.Sta...

"From the outside, it looks like another tacky eatery in a street lined with tacky takeaways. Walk through the door and pleasantly surprised. A little deli counter, a back room then a garden. The garden overlooks a derelict abandoned overgrown garden. Not a problem, I am used to this in Athens. What is the problem, and I don’t see in Athens, tenants throwing rubbish out of their windows into the garden. It is ideal breeding ground for rats. The local environmental health should investigate, and if needed carry out enforcement action. To sit outside or not? Maybe too cool when the sun went in, and too hot if it came out as no shade. I decided to sit inside, near the back door. A red rose on the table is a neat touch. I was the only diner. Oh but we were busier earlier. Strange how I am always told, if you’d have been here when you weren’t here, we were busy. The menu was singurly uninspiring. Why panini’s? Everywhere does paninis. I have never understood why. Or pasta. The choice penne (which I don’t like), or spaghetti (which I dislike slightly less) I chose spaghetti Bolognese. It arrived seemingly quick. I was asked when I placed my order, did I wish for Parmesan cheese? It was added in the kitchen. Usually brought to and added at the table. Spaghetti Bolognese is not an Italian dish. It was an artificial dish with elements of North and South. The spaghetti mediocre at best, the Bolognese sauce excellent. I was going to leave but decided to stay. I chose tiriamasiu for dessert. Coffee, Illy, no thanks. For coffee walk to Madame Waffle or Coffee Aroma. I visited a couple of weeks ago, the previous week I found closed."
