"Booked the Christmas wreath making workshop for myself and my daughter pre Christmas as we thought it would be a lovely christmassy thing to do and it was. We were with a really nice group and the ladies teaching us were so welcoming and helpful. The course included a coffee and a mince pie half way through which was a welcome warm up, The wreaths were prepared along with the the decorations to go onto the wreath being prewired. We were shown the basic premise of what to do and then we all put our own slant on each wreath to put them together. The workshop was outside but undercover and there were plenty of heaters but where a coat. It was such a fun an christmasssy thing to do and we came away with super duper wreath for our doors, I highly recommend and I we will do it again next year."

The Old Moat has a lovely walled garden and a pleasant outdoor seating area for the café. It's small and friendly and a nice place for a short visit. We visit it often.

I absolutely adore this place. I visit frequently to purchase gifts, cards, and plants, and to relax in the charming coffee shop. The staff is amazing and the food is absolutely delicious.

Small garden centre with an excellent cafe. Good selection of GF cakes and peaceful inside and outside seating. The Floating Refillery was there when we went so we were able to top up on loose porridge and rice and some household cleaning products.

Lovely cafe, outdoor and inside seating all dog friendly. Lots of gluten free options, smoothies, cold/hot drinks, cakes, ice creams as well as cold/hot food. I had the waffle with bacon and syrup, very nice but sickly so would recommend ordering the syrup on the side. Voir le carte

Had lunch with a friend today (and my pup and we so weren't disappointed! My friend is a coeliac so needs a GF option and the staff were so knowledgable and even checked the ingredients on a specific meal for her. Delicious food, fab service (honestly better then The Ivy ! and above all great value. Look forward to coming back soon.

I stopped by this restaurant during a dog walk to grab a coffee and a piece of carrot cake. The cake was good, but the drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive and were extremely hot. Despite this, I will likely return because I appreciate the concept of the restaurant. There aren't any other options nearby for a quick stop near Horton. Next time, I think I'll go for a cup of tea instead.

This is one of my local garden centres in the area worth visiting. I came for the first time this year in order to look at the plants, and have some nice cake in the cafe as well. It was a great outing. I had a nice time. If you have any gardening related questions talk to the employees etc. Feel free to take a look around the place and maybe even purchase one of the products on sale as well. I love this garden centre. I wandered around looking at the flowers and even picked up some nice tasty fudge to eat at home too. Voir le carte

Mum turned 90 recently and had heard about The Old Moat so we brought her for lunch here and had a lovely time. Food was very good portions are very big! (There was only a packed lunch type thing for children sometimes mum has a children’s meal) Great value and very tasty. Really, really appreciated Ailish who took the order The Walled Garden was greatly enjoyed. We plan to come back soon. All was just the right size for mum to manage to look around with good disabled access, disabled toilet, disabled parking and rails to hold onto and mum spotted the swap book case! Recommended

I met up with a friend for coffee at this restaurant and was pleased with their wheelchair access provisions. They assured me in advance and upon arrival, there was a wide entry door near the outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and the cake and coffee were delicious. Unfortunately, my wheelchair accessible vehicle broke down while I was there, but all the staff at the garden center were incredibly helpful. They made sure I wasn't left stranded and provided excellent service. I couldn't give a better review to the staff at this place if I tried. The wheelchair access was good and the accessible restroom in the cafe was a good size. I was able to navigate independently and thoroughly enjoy...

"I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. When the dinners arrived, you could see straight away that the lamb was Very Fatty (not even crispy) when my my tried eating it, it was both tough and chewy! As for the beef, this was cooked ok and edible, although I asked for the beef to be medium, but it was more well done. The waiter came over to ask if the meal was ok, I highlighted how the lamb was... the manager then came over and offered my Mum a slice of beef to compensate, bearing in mind she ordered lamb. Mum subsequently found that some of her roast potatoes were hard inside! I finished my meal, but could see Mum really didn't enjoy hers leaving a substantial amount on her plate, and having tried her lamb it really was inedible! We were then offered a full list of desserts rather than the set menu, having chocolate brownie and creme brûlée (both were gorgeous) When the bill arrived, I was hoping they would have somehow made amends, but alas no ... as Mum doesn't like to cause a fuss and it was her treat, I decided not to say anything, although the staff manager could tell we weren't happy. Having come from East Sussex for the day and regularly have great Sunday roasts in local pubs, I was hoping for something special in this restaurant, but sadly that wasn't the case. In fact it's probably one of the worst roast dinners I've had in a long time. I very much doubt we'll return ..."
