"Flavour mostly great, but felt short changed. Been before, money wasn’t an issue, ordered food tasted great. Went today on the way back from something, but feel a bit disappointed. Couldn’t choose between the club sarnie, the chorizo and red pepper crostini and the dhal, so opted for all 3. The club sandwich offers maximum flavour, but lacks on substance for me. If I’m paying £13,50 for a club sandwich I want to be remotely full at the end attached is a picture of one of the 2 same sized pieces of chicken not good enough. The basil Mayo is to die for, I will add. The crostini, again, isn’t anywhere near filling enough to warrant the price. You can’t deny the flavour, but one slice of sourdough with a few cooked peppers, some aioli and 3 slithers or chorizo isn’t just cause for charging £14 it’s not on. What’s frustrating is again, the flavour is superb, but it’s here’s just not enough there to warrant the hefty price. Then we get on to the Dhal, which to be frank was an utter disgrace. Sour, watery, lacked seasoning and overall depth. Undercooked root veg on top and just an out and out disappointment, especially when the other 2 dishes we’d ordered weren’t sizeable enough to quell any hunger pains. A decent sized portion, just a shame it was such a poor dish. Also, £6.25 for a milkshake is an utter disgrace and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Perplexed the place is as busy as it is. Staff seem attentive and friendly, can’t quarrel that but the portion sizes are hugely substandard, given the astronomical prices. Won’t be rushing back, which is a shame. Not much around those parts with the ideas and flavour (aside from the watery dhal), but the portions are 50% too small. I will add, my wife and I are slight, modest eaters far from greedy pigs."

The menu was excellent and the food was amazing, as usual. The staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning when we are back in the area.

This place has amazing food. The big thing for me is that the food served doesn't have all the preservatives in it like in the states. Excellent ,and I fant stress excellent enough place to eat

I stopped by for a spontaneous lunch and it was definitely worth it. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the venue had a great relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend a visit. Thank you.

What a blissful oasis on our long journey from Yorkshire to Dorset! The atmosphere was fizzing and the food fantastic. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and the service swift. I would highly recommend a visit and we shall certainly be returning soon!

The staff were friendly and attentive, but the lack of checking in on us was noticeable. We ordered beans on toast with three slices of streaky bacon, scrambled eggs on toast, a tea, and a flat white, which came out to £32.30. As a catering outlet owner, I know the costs involved and found this to be ridiculously expensive.

Four of us for my wife’s Birthday lunch. Food and service was excellent as usual. Friendly and helpful staff with tasty imaginative food. I can’t say it’s the cheapest but I’m certainly not complaining- since Covid with restaurants opening up again we have found that quality and value for money is scarce so well done he Milk Shed I hope it continues to thrive. Get our recommendation every time. Voir le carte

We have been coming here regularly for many years but it just does not feel the same any more. We have enjoyed many club sandwiches, milwaukee rye etc and used to recommend the Milk Shed to friends. However the prices now seem to have gone up considerably but the worst thing is the atmosphere, none of the staff seem very friendly or welcoming and one member of staff in particular seems very abrupt and rude. It's such a shame, this used to be our favourite place for brunch or lunch or even just a milkshake and cake but not any more unfortunately

I’ve been for lunch a couple of times at weekends but today my husband and I were without our 12 year old and the dog and I wanted him to experience the food. It was busy enough to have a lovely atmosphere but quiet enough to get a table without queuing. He had the tart of the day (leek and feta) whilst I had the gorgeous scrambled egg with spicy chorizo and roast tomatoes. Everything was without fault, wonderfully flavoursome and delicious. If only The Milk Shed could teach high end hotels how to actually cook a tomato! I travel with work and have been disappointed by thousands of tomatoes over the years. I’ve tried to recreate the eggs numerous times at home and failed miserably. Service w...

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
