This is perhaps the nicest place I have ever stayed! Stunning property in a beautiful location overlooking Dartmoor and run by Fiona and Anna. Just incredible!

Had a lovely break here. Fiona and her son were very welcoming, room had everything we needed, breakfast was great and my partner’s dogs were spoilt every morning with breakfast sausages.

I stayed at the Liscawn for one night and it was delightful. Fiona, the owner, was extremely helpful and even gave us a ride to and from the nearby pub since the Liscawn did not serve meals.

Think bates Motel.! This is quite the oddest place I have ever stayed in. When I arrived there was no one about, Bar was in darkness. Outdoor furniture untidily scattered around and covered in bird lime. Room was cold and no hot water from the sink tap. Electric shower. Wi Fi practically non existent. None in the room. Evening meals were poor and straight form the freezer. Breakfast was adequate.

Wish we had read other reviews first! Very disappointed, outside of hotel and views lovely inside tired and dated. Greeted by a sign on the main entrance explaining to go around the back of the building and ringing to be eventually answered by a polite but rather eerie character. There was no bar on offer over the whole weekend and no dinner available as he wasn't sure if his mother had been shopping!! Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't clean and the breakfast average. On the morning of leaving we received an email to say payment had been taken and we saw no one as we left, a very odd way to run a hotel business!

This was billed as a 4* hotel and cost £140 per night. Honestly 1 or at best 2* and £60 per night would have been fairer. My friends and i would never set foot in the place again; the entrance and carpet upstairs was filthy, over flowing ash tray on the bench outside the front door. The room itself was 1960’s, the toilet was filthy and the cistern was broken. The shower in our friends room was broken but at least they had a bath as back up. The breakfast was ok but only filter coffee on offer, packaged marmalade/jams. We came back from the pub (Finnygook Inn) after an excellent dinner looking for a night cap at 9pm and the bar was closed. A terrible experience.

My wife and I holidayed with our 3 children and their partners, our 4 grandchildren and 3 dogs. From the moment we arrived the owner Fiona and her wonderful sons made us extremely welcome tending to anything we needed. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotel is in a cracking location, minutes away from the coast and a challenging golf course. We discovered the hotel last year whilst walking the south west coastal path and thought it would make an ideal family holiday base. We were not wrong. The grounds are gorgeous with a lovely play area which the youngsters loved. Breakfast was amazing and the grandchildren loved the fact they could get what they wanted. The dogs even got a saus...

The breakfast was delicious, with a fresh local full English and a good continental selection. Our daughter especially loved the waffles that Fiona reserved just for her every morning. Even our dachshund was spoiled with a sausage for breakfast each day! The hotel grounds were also beautiful, with a large garden, pond with nesting mallards, and a great play area for kids surrounded by nature. It felt very secure and was a great place for families. The location of The Liscawn was perfect for exploring the surrounding area, with attractions like Mount Edgecumbe, Looe, Polperro, and Cawsand all within 25 minutes. The Barbican was easily accessible by foot ferry from Mount Edgecumbe. There were...

"So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!"
