"We popped in for a late lunch on Friday 29th September after a long walk along the River Wye. Jess was great from start to finish happy, smiley and couldn't do enough to help! She gave our dog a lot of attention and even brought him over a bowl of water, which was a really nice touch. The food was delicious, the pub was cosy and nicely decorated, and the service was great. I had a lovely roast on Sunday, and it was amazing! There was plenty of meat and vegetables, along with delicious homemade gravy. I will definitely be returning! x

Popped in Sunday evening. They normally stop serving Sunday dinner at 6pm, but they offered to put together a meal for us regardless. Result! Food was great included pudding! and the service was second to non. So friendly, and they couldn't do enough for us. Made for a great evening Highly recommended. It's the people that make all the difference. Check it out.

Once I got off the bus at M&S with no taxis available, I hobbled to the nearest pub, The George, just 50 yards away, hoping a pint of HPA would help ease my knee. Unfortunately, that didn’t do the trick. However, the kind staff at The George (and their sister bar, The Lion, across the street) came to my rescue by giving me a lift to my car (don’t worry, it’s an automatic). They were truly wonderful, and I can’t thank them enough! Lifesavers. Service: 5 stars.
