"Had lunch here today with family members. Nice table overlooking the river and St. Paul's but oh dear the service was slow. Seemed it was a problem with bar and kitchen rather than the waiting staff but I'm afraid we deducted service from the bill. Food was variable. My salad of bitter leaves with quails egg and Cornish Yarg cheese was really excellent, as was the terrine our daughter had, but my husband felt short changed by the sea trout. The only main that was really good was the short rib of beef with mash. My husband ordered this but my daughter ended up eating it as she said her breast and leg of Barbary duck tasted of very little. My Cornish fish stew was also disappointing. Desserts also did not live up to expectation. When I order a fruit pavlova I do not expect a perfectly spherical,over-sweet, mass produced merengue sitting on top of some stewed fruit and cream. Probably won't return."

I came in with a friend who was a little tipsy, and she was so caring and knew exactly what to do. Thank you, Eloise, for being so kind. As promised, 5 stars. Thank you!

Perfect Restaurant for a Perfect Dinner with friends. top quality French wine and Top food selected and choosen from the best marketplace. One of the best restaurant I have tried in London, also for the spectacular view on the Thames. To the next!

Maybe the audience likes dull meals but this left me bored and wishing for something more interesting. The rhubarb rice pudding creme brulee promised more than it delivered. My fish need a bit of spice and had none. My starter was not memorable. Sigh.

For supper during our five-day stay, we try a few British pubs such as the Globe, and the meal here is quite tasty, but one has to be careful because a pound here equals $1.90 CDN which makes it virtually a 2 to 1 scenario. You are always paying twice as much as at home. The Globe is somewhat tight quarters but good service and Brit atmosphere. Voir le carte

We were celebrating a birthday and booked for the pre matinee lunch. It was faultless. 3 courses for £24. I has cold pea soup and my friend has the smoked salmon. Main course fish and sanfire and the dessert was fab; chocolate custard, berries and a tweel. A group on the next table were celebrating with afternoon tea and that looked delicious too.

The eggs were cooked perfectly, not overdone. However, the sausage was undercooked and the breading was too thick. The dish was served in a rustic presentation on a small board with waxed paper, making it difficult to cut the egg. They only had one cider on tap, which my wife ordered but was told it had run out. Despite being called a pub, the atmosphere was not traditional. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

We decided to have lunch at Globe before our tour at 3PM. They sat down at the end of the place. Our table has nice views on the street and it was a nice quiet area. The music was not loud which it was good to talk between us The waiteress was very kind (she explained all topics for our hamburgers and sides). She also recommended some beers according our tastings. Hamburgers were big enough and the quality of the fries was very good Food was OK. Predictable based that we order big hamburgers. High recommended if you go to the Globe Theater. Voir le carte

we decided to eat here before evening performance at the Wannermaker. The food was reasonable quality but the whole experience disappointing. We waited at least 30 minutes before getting a drinks menu; it was then 45 minutes before we could order food, hence we were informed that we would not have time for a three course meal. The food was rushed and it was impossible to attract anyone's attention for drinks. When we went to pay there was discrepancy about our discount which was only resolved when it was pointed out that I am an avid Trip Advisor contributor. Will not being going again!

I have dined at this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. This time, I decided to try the fixed price menu. Unfortunately, the turkey dish was quite disappointing. The slices of white meat were very dry and lacked gravy, sauces, or the typical trimmings one would expect with turkey. The dessert, trifle, was also a letdown and did not resemble traditional trifle at all. It seemed like the restaurant was unfamiliar with how to properly prepare and serve classic dishes. Three of my friends who ordered the same dishes shared my disappointment. I had much better turkey at my local pub the night before. It's a shame, considering this is normally a good restaurant....
