"We visited today after doing the Daffodil walk, there were no menus out on the tables and you had to queue to see what was on offer, this is a little awkward when you have a disabled old person and 5 dogs with you. Some menus on the table would be helpful! The staff were completely inexperienced and didn't know what they were doing. When we finally got in to order, you could see one of the girls washing up, the water was the dirtiest water I've seen, this put me off straight away. We ordered some scones which were dry and tasted stale, there was also a cup of tea missing from our order. We won't return here next time, we will go further down the road to the pub for lunch."

Although the cafe may lack refinement, the outdoor seating is clean and abundant, the food and drink options are plentiful, and the host is extremely welcoming.

Two friends and I dropped in to the Daffy Caffy on a motorbike tour. It's a lovely little place, very relaxed and tucked away. We enjoyed our chat with the owner, our tea and scones and a welcome seat in the garden. Even watched a woodpecker in the garden. Lovely place.

Quirky but very friendly little cafe. It sits astride the Daffy Walk through Farndale. We had a coffee and a sandwich how nice to able to say a white Coffee please instead of getting 20 question on size, composition, allergies etc!! Well worth a stop, they are hoppy with dogs and muddy boots, just as it should be.

Not the best. Latte was one of the sweet packet ones you get. Sandwiches ok. Side salad but no cutlery. If you go on a nice day you can sit outside and watch the birds. Didn't try the cakes but they looked nice. 2 coffees, 1 tuna sandwich with small side salad and 1 bacon butty just under £15. Prefer cash but do have card machine. Voir le carte

This is the mid point for the daffodil walk so was a good spot for lunch. They are happy for you to go in with muddy boots and coats etc which is ideal. The food is quite simple (bacon/ beef rolls, soup, buns etc) but probably just what you need on a walk. They also have cakes and scones for pudding. It’s quite a scruffy looking place so not somewhere to go for a special occasion but was just what we needed on our walk.

We stopped for a meal and ordered tea, scones, and hot sandwiches. The tea was served on a tray, but the scone was missing. I asked about it and was repeatedly questioned by the waitress about whether I had actually paid for it. After a frustrating exchange, I finally received the missing scone. The staff's attitude was rude and unapologetic, and the prices were high. Overall, the customer service was terrible and I would not recommend this restaurant.

I stopped in for a coffee while on the Daffodil walk. I ordered an oat milk latte, but it seemed to confuse the staff. I ended up with a regular milk latte with a small jug of cold oat milk on the side. I don't know why there was a misunderstanding. The regular milk latte was disappointing as it tasted unnaturally sweet even without sugar. I have visited this cafe before and had a great experience, so I was disappointed this time. The man who seemed to be in charge was rude and made me feel silly for asking for my oat milk latte. Voir le carte

Visited this cafe as part of a walk having heard great things about it. The man who runs it is very friendly but needs to understand that I didn’t visit it to listen to him. The food, bacon sandwich, was very poor. The bacon was awful, very fatty and low grade. I also think it was cooked on a dirty griddle. The tea was served in cheap and nasty tea pots as well. The shop itself was awful, Charing £1 for flapjack that cost. 29p in home bargains and selling buns that came out if a packet from a supermarket. Will not visit this cafe again and can’t recommend anything about it.

Had to smile when I read the previous reviews, especially Lady Ruth's... Look, this is a quirky, fun, interesting cafe with a great bloke who runs it, which offers simple fayre and no posh lad-i--da speciality coffees. If you want a Costa go elsewhere. If you want Michelin starred haute cuisine, go and see the wonderful Tommy Banks, down't road! But if you want simple, good quality food, well cooked and either tea or white coffee (sorry Ruth) then this is the place for you. Loved the simplicity. Loved the banter and loved the value for money on offer. Great place and will now make an annual pilgrimage to the daffs and the Daffey Cafe. #respect #notforanyonecalledRuth

"We arrived and walked into the pub.. there wasn't any sort of reception area.. the lady serving showed us our room. The room smelt damp.we went out for dinner said we would be back 10ish pm, we got back at 10.08pm. It was raining. We tried to get in everywhere was locked up.. we were getting wet and cold, we honked the car horn and rang the door bell.. nothing, so we phoned the property. No one answered it went to an answer machine,we sat back in the car , we were soaked and stuck outside..no way to get in.. Eventually a man walked from the bottom field and asked if we were the residents stuck outside? Apparently his manager had rang him to go have a look, he made it clear to us that he wasn't suppose to be working till Monday but he has had to come up to let us in... he let us in and locked up and off he went. My brother realised then he had left his phone in the car so went to get it but we were locked in. The fact that we were now locked in was very concerning as to fire and safety regulations, hoe would you get out in the situation.. but anyway atleast we were indoors and vould go to bed albeit that the room smelt so strongly of damp, but we had no choice, we were out in the middle of nowhere , which we thought would be a nice place to stay, but unfortunately not.... we had 3 flights of stairs to our room..a damp room, and no access after 10pm although we had said what time we were returning..we would have eaten there if the meals had been reasonably priced. Really not the best place to stay.."
