The Chinese Whispers Afternoon Tea At Kai

The service is so bad. The tea is very average and cannot be replaced. Food cannot be continued. I’ve had so many afternoon teas in London and none was like this! ! !

Absolutely incredible experience never done anything like it. Food was exceptional (you could have as much as you want), surrounding was gorgeous and the immersion was second to none couldn’t recommend this more

The service was incredibly slow for Michelin Star. The food was ok, nothing spectacular and definitely not worth the money. No options for children is poor. I was expecting something really special and it was so disappointing! Voir le carte

I found a bone in my food, and the waitress/manager said she would inform the chef, but that was the extent of their response. They didn’t offer any compensation or take further action. The food was a bit dry, but the ambiance of the place was nice.

I enjoyed afternoon tea with a delightful (Chinese) twist. I really appreciated the playful themes and the inventive snacks, especially the spicy "Potion of Eternal Youth" and the fragrant money cake. I even went back for seconds! By the end, I was thoroughly full. The service was also impeccable.

Had a fantastic time celebrating my sisters birthday! I am an afternoon fanatic and out of all my afternoon experiences this one of my top ones on my list! The theme was beautiful, creative and inspiring! To top it all the food was amazing! Enjoyed every bite! Definitely recommend to all my friends and family. Will definitely come back again! The food was decent, but nothing particularly outstanding. The egg dish stood out to me as my favorite savory option. The table setting was elegant, and the presentation of the food was also quite appealing. However, our experience was marred by poor service. We felt rushed by the staff and were informed that we couldn’t have extra refills on the savory sandwiches because our table needed to be turned, even though we had only been seated for 50 minutes and there were more empty tables than occupied ones. Afternoon tea at Kai is very much a visual feast for the eyes, some intriguing delectables presented on a 2-tier stand like most afternoon tea sets — but it was missing some key details to make it more than that. (This review is only for the afternoon tea experience, so see others’ reviews on the normal menu. I was very disappointed with our experience at Kai. A friend and I booked the 4pm afternoon tea upon our arrival in London and because of the Michelin star, were excited with high expectations. Now the food overall was very good, although a few pieces felt like they had been sitting under a heat warmer or something. Some dishes didn 't taste the freshest. Overall, again the good was pretty good, my real disappointment fell with the ambiance and service. We sat in the basement which was empty except for 1 table, which is not their fault but would have been nice to know that we were basically the only booking.
