"Apparently the Newcastle Arms, the previous name of this pub (which is still prominently carved in stone on its facade you 're not in the wrong place) was a bit of a rough lager focused venue which serves to underline what a great offering they now have. Lots of cask lines I think they had three stouts on including an espresso martini one which was really excellent. Also I tried a 'chai der ' a spicy cider that was a real treat so cool to try something totally different that I 've never seen anywhere else. Music was loud on a Friday night but didn 't rule out conversation and we also got a space to seat (there is an upstairs too). It 's great if you want somewhere with a little more energy. My only criticism was the lack of a helpful blackboard or other sign on the wall giving basic info about the beers so helpful to know name/brewery/style/alcohol content/price when there 's a long line of pumps that will inevitably be at least partially blocked by other punters."

Just coming back to say the food is really good too! They've recently changed their menu, but I know that I enjoyed the crab toast with curry mayonnaise last time I was there. Lots of good bar snacks. This continues to be one of our favorite places in town!

A little bit hipster but no bad thing, a great array of guest and resident beers, exposed ducting and conduits in an industrial style but with a nice touch of walls of books that reflect the sea going heritage of Newcastle. Prices not to bad either for the more prestige ales and good for the standards. You also have the Tyne bridge right over your head.

The Bridge Tavern is located under the Tyne Bridge on the way down towards the Quayside. Recently refurbished, in 2015, the interior is very tasteful, a mix of exposed brickwork, wood, and books! The atmosphere is very cosy and relaxed. There is a large range of real ales on tap, and great emphasis is placed on the food, which I am informed is delicious. The Bridge Tavern is also a micro-brewery. Voir le carte

Was initially tough to find, but well worth it. Interesting local beer selections. I settled on the the most hoppy IPA they had and was not disappointed. Wylam Jakehead IPA. Also tried fish and chips. HUGE piece of fresh fish, with a nice (albeit little greasy) batter. Served with an obviously homemade tartar sauce, fries and purée peas (actually) very tasty. If I ever come back to Newcastle, I would definitely come back to this place to try some of the other interesting menu items, and more beer!!

Four of us decided to have a drink at this restaurant. The beer was very good. You order your drink at the bar, pay for it, and then it is served to you. The bartender was not very friendly, and since there were few customers there, I expected him to be more welcoming. There is no one to ask if you would like another drink, so you have to go back to the unfriendly bartender. I tried a stout, which was excellent, and one of my friends ordered ginger wine, which I tasted and found to be delicious. The bar area was quite large and open, and the downstairs restrooms were nice, charming, and decorated in an ornate manner.

I absolutely adore The Bridge Tavern - it's one of my top choices for pubs in Newcastle! This spot is super chill, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat and enjoying a drink on their lovely outdoor terrace upstairs, complete with heaters for those chilly northern evenings. They have a fantastic variety of drinks, top-notch service, and a friendly staff. The food is absolutely delicious - I've dined here a few times and have never been disappointed. The decor may not be fancy, but the wooden tables and eclectic collection of books give it a cozy, laid-back vibe. Overall, I highly recommend checking out this gem of a pub! Voir le carte

While traveling in the UK, we didn't plan to visit many pubs and drink heavily, but that changed when we stumbled upon the Bridge. Originally intending to have dinner there in Newcastle, we ended up at a forgettable establishment before heading to the Bridge for drinks. The tavern was beautifully decorated and spacious, with an impressive selection of beers. We spent the night trying different options and enjoying the lively atmosphere. A friendly group even joined us at our table, celebrating with prosecco and offering us valuable travel tips for our journey to Scotland. It was a great evening that ended with a leisurely walk along the Quayside before heading back to our hotel.

On June 12, 2015, we eagerly returned to The Bridge Tavern just off the quayside in Newcastle we had enjoyed our visits last year and had treasured the memories between our two trips. Today we had a pint (or two), a special light and a special main ... as usual, the two of us shared. We haven 't been disappointed with the specials here (numerous visits). Today we enjoyed the Keilder Venison Salad with Pickled Mushrooms and Wild Leeks (light) and the Roasted Lamb Rump with Grilled Gem Lettuce and Anchovies. The food here is consistent and rarely are we less than thrilled. The service is typically spot on, we enjoy the upstairs lounge when the weather is nice. They have an extensive selection...
