"Very highly reviewed restaurant on Tripadvisor, and being a fan of the Greek cuisine I decided to give Taverna Athene a try. It looks Greek, a bit on the cheap side, and the staff was nice. It quickly filled up while I was there so it's obviously popular. I was a little disappointed at the menu, mostly different variations of souvlaki and gyros. I had a meatball and a souvlaki with a side of greek salad, tzatziki and greek potatoes, and although there was a lot of food it really didn't give me the authentic greek feeling and rich taste that I remember from various holidays in Greece, it just all tasted much the same, and the potatoes and vegetables were salty and soggy. But what do I know, maybe I just ordered the wrong dishes."

This was my local restaurant when stayed in Kreuzberg. The owners are lovely, food is delicious and Ouzo even better. The price isn't bad at all. Miss this place, definitely coming back as soon as possible! Xx

Eat here for dinner with friends, nice atmosphere and service excellent, I'm no expert on Greek food, I thought it was average, but what would I know, I probably won't be back but enjoyed our evening and the waiter was excellent

Was at a conference at the Tempelhof arena and following a search for restaurants close by myself and a friend went here. Really good food, amazing value and very friendly service. Would definitely go back again next time I'm in Berlin.

We stayed near by and had a shared platter to start. It was traditional Greek and parts were nice, other I wasn't as much a fan of.My main was a strange mince pasta cheese thing which was nice to begin but there was too much and not enough flavour for me. My friend got the lamb skewers and I was amazed by them, very nice.The Greek wine was also a surprise, very palatable.I probably wouldn't return here as I don't really like Greek food but this wasn't bad.

As regular visitors to Greece and Cyprus for over 25 years we tend not to eat at Greek restaurants in other countries but the reviews for this one somehow dragged us to it.We weren't disappointed at all, it feels Greek as soon as you walk in, we shared Spanakopita and Feta Saganaki for starters with bread and tatziki, I had a mixed plate of gyros, pork souvlaki and lamb chop and my partner simply had the gyros plate, both came with salad, chips and more tatziki all washed down with the complimentary Ouzo at the beginning and end of the meal and of course a couple of beers.Next time in Berlin we will definitely be back.
