"I had made a reservation for a birthday dinner for six people on a Thursday evening, only to arrive and find the restaurant closed due to some issue with the kitchens. There was no one available to speak to, just a note on the door. I was disappointed that they didn't contact me by email to inform me of the closure, as it would have saved us the trip. We ended up going to Davanti in Tynemouth instead. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the original restaurant in the future."

we decided in the last minute to eat and had luck getting a table at scalini. the restaurant was very quiet as we had booked on the last session of the day. we enjoyed our meal immense and our waiter was very attentive and polite. the food was cooked to perfection. we will definitely eat again at scalini.

No one to talk with a note on the door. at least what they had done was to contact me by e-mail and inform me and it would have saved a trip. telephoned davanti in tynemouth and went there instead, advise where we don't go in future.

The menu has changed massively and it’s half the size it used to be, they’ve also changed the type of pasta meaning it is all egg based. My family member is severely allergic to eggs among other things which meant she was limited to being able to eat the pizza only. We used to come here quite often but probably won’t come back due to the lack of available food options for my family member which is a real shame.
