"This place has been around for a long time and for good reason. Whilst it is in no way spectacular, it offers an expansive array of good to very good Malay and Indo-Chinese foods. This is a small restaurant with a plain decor. It is located on a quiet road away from the noise and bedlam of the Edgware Road and Paddington; making it a good place to relax after a long day at work or West-End shopping spree. The service here can be a little slow, primarily because everything is cooked fresh from scratch. This can result in the entire order coming at once and some food getting cold. I can recommend: the Ayam Goreng Berlada (Fried Chicken with Shrimps), Ayam Masak Lemak Chili Api (Chicken...read more"

will eat in this restaurant when I am in london. I am Malaysian and eating in this restaurant meets my Malaysian taste bud. I like her fried kuey teow, soto (this is especially super tasty) and curry laksa.

had a demand for local food and google around and decided to taste this restaurant near the hotel. (paddington station area) had the mee sup (soup) with teh tarik, while daughter had the nasi lemak and cold drink. Eat was good, though a bit salty for...me teh tarik ok. the server were nice, they occasionally ask if eating was in order. the craft has reached this date.

the small restaurant serves authentic Malaysian dishes, the hawn sat is absolutely brilliant (although the earthy shower was a bit wet for my taste). my colleague had ikambillis, which he also said well. we have eaten nasigorengy, his with garnel, mine with bark. Bith...whoe excellent purists could be against the lack of a roasted egg above, but this has not distracted from an excellent meal.

we waited for 8 minutes before someone approached to sit. starters were better than main thing. we order sweet potato friries that were soggy and greasy, lambskin some were soft, others were very dry. manager didn't want to change the pommes to kokosnuss...rice wait for the drinks were ridiculous and they weren't even busy. when we paid the last bill, I removed the service fee. the services and eating are on the hill.

We found a tasty spot for Malaysian food yesterday! Various tastes and spices! As an appetizer, we ordered Satay (6 chicken skewers with peanut sauce) and for our mains we had Kari Ayam (Aromatic chicken curry), Kari Laksa (Spicy egg noodle soup with chicken, tofu, egg, prawns, and vegetables) and my favourite Rendang Daging (Slow cooked beef in coconut milk and spices) !! Definitely recommend this if you like Malaysian!

Sometimes I go out of my way for food, this was one of those cases! Craving a good Malaysian we traveled out from Bank to satisfy those cravings. Malaysian food in London has yet to have its big stage yet so places are either clustered around Bayswater or dotted around London. First impressions, love the traditional menu with a lot of Malaysian favourites, I couldn't wait to try them all! One of which is actually Teh Tarik. If you know me I'll order Teh Tarik everytime its on the menu! I'm addicted to the stuff! Satay House's version was sweet but also great to taste a bit of bitterness as well to temper the taste.

Satay House is about a 10 minute walk from Paddington station. The decor is simple yet elegant. The service was quite slow, but all is forgiven when the food arrived Highlights Chicken Satay (lamb option is also available) – juicy morsels of chicken thigh with irresistible char-coal grill marks smell (yes, I know all about the cancer risks). Served with thick nutty satay sauce, and a side of rice cubes, fresh cucumber and shallots. They aced the test, and I allow them to keep the restaurant name Deep-fried tofu stuffed with beansprouts, cucumber strips, and sliced carrots. It looks so boring in the photo here, but tastes incredible. The outside of the tofu is crispy, the...read more

Rasa Sayang Satay House, Paddington – not often we feast on Malaysian food in restaurants because of my Malaysian Home Cooking Supperclub. Most of the time I am also occupied with trying out new recipes, dishes and flavours. Tweaking it to perfection before making sure the dish is good enough for my supperclub. But, that is not to say that we don't eat Malaysian food in restaurants, just hardly ever. I need to keep myself informed We feasted at Rasa Sayang Satay House restaurant upon the invitation from Contact Singapore. At the gathering, there were about 40, mostly young professionals, working in London in the accountancy and finance sector Rasa Sayang restaurant is tiny. It is...read more
