"My husband and I visited here for a meal to celebrate my birthday. The welcome was warm and friendly, the service impeccable. The staff here are simply superb nothing is too much trouble, they are unobtrusive but observant, friendly but totally professional. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from Sapori. The dining room was bright, elegant, beautifully laid out with lots of space between tables. As for the food ..... We chose the degustation menu at £49 per head. Every course was faultless and beautifully presented. An amuse bouche of salmon pate with a quails egg. Fois gras and chicken liver parfait. Creamy crab served in cucumber slices. Sea bass on basil mash with chorizo and peppers. Duck breast and duck leg confit with a potato and carrot layer. Finally, an assiette gourmand chocolate fondant, vanilla ice cream, creme brulee, cheesecake with strawberries and basil sauce. I 'm afraid I must have been quite tedious, because as each stunning plate arrived, I could only exclaim Wow! The waiter recommended a Chablis with the meal at £28 a bottle it was almost double the price of the wine we had originally chosen but it was the perfect partner to the meal. When I complimented the staff on the quality of the food, service and surroundings, I was told it had taken 2 years to get to this point. Those 2 years have been well spent. Sapori added the Wow factor to a special occasion. The menu changes every 3 months so that 's a good reason to go back. It 's a 92 mile drive for us, but well worth it. Can 't wait!"

Have had some very good meals here. Bar snacks are a better choice. Restaurant can be a bit too nouveau cuisine. Nice surroundings and good service

The hotel has been going down hill over the last few years, but this restaurant is now clearly on the map. The menu is very good, the food and presentation and service is refreshing. 10 out of 10 , well done to the team

This restaurant exceeded our expectations! We selected it primarily because we were staying at the Wynnstay Hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised by the impeccable service and impressive menu options. The quality and presentation of the dishes were outstanding. Voir le carte

We are frequent customers at The Wynnstay and Wilson's. We decided to have Sunday lunch after seeing a delicious roast beef meal through the window. We ordered the same meal, which was cooked perfectly and served in the cozy and comfortable bar area. It was also great value for money.

How this restaurant gained any awards is beyond comprehension. We ordered the Menu Desgustation. All we had was the standard menu dishes, poorly presented and served by staff who had no idea of table etiquette. I talked to the Maitre D who apologised, saying it was difficult to recruit staff. I suggest the owners start a training programme after eating in their own restaurant to experience the poor standard that is being delivered.

This really is a fantastic place to eat. The Sapori Restaurant, or Four Seasons as I think it is now called according to their website is completely understated, but really does offer a gourmet experience. We had the degustation menu, which included: tomato veloute, chicken fois gras, crab cannelloni, scallops, lamb, and an assiette gourmand of desserts. They were all beautifully presented and delivered an amazing taste experience. Plus at under £50 per person it was really good value. The service was also fantastic you simply could not fault the staff. The executive chef deserves all the praise he gets, and we would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. Voir le carte

Spur of the moment, popped in for breakfast quite late in the morning just before Brunch was due to start. Had a lovely breakfast. Helped ourselves to starters from the Buffet fresh fruit, pastries, very good cold meats and cheeses, bread, cakes fruit juices and cereals; more than enough with out the cooked breakfast. We decided to have the cooked breakfast, too, however, and were not disappointed. My husband had the Eggs Benedict and said it was really very good lovely fresh orange yoked eggs. I had the Full English consisting of excellent sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding, mushrooms and lots of hot, properly cooked toast. Coffee was not brilliant, but overall a very good breakfast. I woul...

It has been approximately two years since my last visit to this restaurant, during which time there have been changes in chefs and concepts. My previous experience was for a special occasion, where the bill exceeded £100. This time, I was looking for a more budget-friendly option. I must say that my previous experience was positive, with exceptional food and service. Based on a recommendation from a man in the pub, I made a reservation for 18:30 and opted for the set menu. I had calamari as a starter and my wife had goats cheese, followed by haddock on leeks mashed potato with hollandaise sauce, and finished with chocolate sponge for dessert. The food was well-presented, well-cooked, and fla...

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
