"We had a great time at this pub. The service from the staff behind the bar was very friendly, and they had a great selection of well-kept ales and a tempting pie menu. The pub also had some unique features that you don't see every day. The Albion is located on the site of Whitby House, which was originally built in 1689 and licensed in 1730. It was demolished and rebuilt in 1831, reopening in 1832 as the Albion Hotel, a coaching inn on the fashionable Marine Parade. The pub has a connection to Scotland through its tie to Younger's Brewery of Edinburgh, which is reflected in the bagpipes behind the bar and the tartan designs in the dining room, known as the Scottish Bar. During our visit, we had to enter through the Marine bar from Marine Parade, which was practical as it led us straight to the ale pumps. We tried two ales from Three Acre Brewery, and they were both excellent. The pub also offers a variety of real ciders. The Marine bar may seem plain at first, but it has some charming period features. The dining room initially appears dark with its wood paneling and furniture, but it is a comfortable room to enjoy a beer and one of their delicious pies. There is also a stage area for live music on weekends. The pub's location on Marine Parade allows for outdoor seating on bench seats, which is a lovely spot when the sun is shining."

I had the falafels there were no chick peas in sight! Filled with mash potato, tasteless, apparently the chef only likes cooking meat! So if you are a vegetarian, I would avoid, it’s a shame, as the pub has great atmosphere

This pub/restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere and serves delicious pies that are homemade and served with fresh vegetables. There is a wide selection to choose from and everything is just perfect for a satisfying meal.

Stick to the pies!......... I had the falafels dish, it looked like my falafels had fallen on the floor, overly garlic-flavored hummus, , dry and hard pitta breads, And £18 for that!!!!!!!!!!! I feel It was a rip-off for that particular dish.

Have eaten here quite a few times in the last 12 months and it has always been excellent. It's like a friendly local pub but it must have amazing chefs as the food is awesome. The beers and wine and cider are great, and the staff are so friendly. Love it here :

We were stunned at the quality of our meals. Smoked haddock pie with a luscious mashed potato superb. So fresh and full of fish, egg and generous in size for one. I chose vegetables and salsa verde with it. Served piping hot by really pleasant and accommodating staff, our other order was the days special of a lamb madras pie with puff pastry. Crisp pastry, packed with meat and bursting with flavour. Accompanied by the crispest of chips and a brown onion gravy with our choice of cheesy leeks. All good is truly home made. How refreshing to get vegetables and real home style food these days!!!!!! Thank you. Service and attention to detail top notch!! Voir le carte

My husband I joined our friends for a birthday meal on Sunday. The menu was quite limited so we all ended up with a pie! The price was ok but when I asked for the vegetable medley £3 extra) to go along with the pie mash, I asked for no butter as the waitress said they put it on the veg. The pie mash were ok, the veg was awful, three pieces of sprouting broccoli a couple of bits of kale which were covered in oil, I said to a different waitress that I had asked for no butter, she said it wasn’t butter, it was oil! We were told after we had finished eating that they needed the table back in 10 mins, we didn’t know there was a time limit at the time of booking. When the bill arrived, 10% service...

Oh my! The pie! The pub is an impressive building right opposite the beach and the street front entrance belies how big it is inside. There are lots of rooms with practical wooden floors for muddy paws! We went with our old English sheepdog and were delighted at the welcome in this dog friendly pub. There was an Irish wolfhound in the other room and other dogs were dotted around. It was lovely! The young servers were very helpful and polite. A friend had recommended the pies but I wasn't expecting the variety. If you didn't already know, a pie is not just a pie. The menu has some great combinations and caters for vegetarians as well as carnivores and includes a vegan puff option too. You can...
