"our nice hotel manager was happy to send us here to our first eat in pula. she eats here as a native and loves the owner. we were enchanted when we came through pedestrian roads to a picturesque and very local restaurant. Too... I didn't have myself as I usually had by reading the bad reviews. in the following, I would say that the dinge were already a bit out, as we seemed to disturb the waiter (later discovered to be owner) by asking for a Prosecco proposal. the dinge worsened further when I asked if there were gluten-free pasta. there was of course, because italics with food allergy protocols is amazing. but immediately you could say that he wasn't happy that I asked. a small background on us....we are food, plan whole vacation around eating. with 5$500 on hole in the walls to michelins, we eat out a lot. we are therefore quite open and patient and flexible. if gluten-free was a problem, I would order something else. I was told they had it. So... there's a Spanish speaker who hears us communicating in our best Italian Spanish. he helps us to choose a fish from the display while his chef is over, clearly annoyed with our lack of fish knowledge. they can say the server is embarrassing and trying to place the angry man. so we finally order....two spaghettis, a gluten-free, only olive oil and a huge fish they have decided to steam. I also mentioned that I can't eat tomato, just so that they don't sneak them somewhere. not well received. So we're waiting. the appetizers come. although the owner said they were small parts. that was most of the truth. the thun-fish tars could be one thing on their own. delicious candle. but we had already felt that this would be too much to eat and then the pasta arrived, not the side of the pasta with olive oil that we had ordered, but a complete dish. two huge mosquitoes and tomato spaghettis. my was gluten-free. when we mentioned that this was not our order, the poop hit the fan. the owner started screaming before everyone on Italian and from what I understood, he said that this is the way pasta is served in italia. they do not do any side of pasta. it always comes like that. number two. because we have eaten pasta in italy for years. Now, we sat there in such a shock that my poor man said "that's okay I eat it" although it's not what he ordered. Of course I couldn't, so I sat with my husband for 20 minutes when I had eaten a meal he hadn't ordered. he said: "I am sad to say, but it is delicious ". no substitute pasta came for me. as if they cannot make pasta with olive oil bc, it is against Italian standards. of course, after this moment the service was obviously clumsy. boss mann disappeared, our female waitress also (probably a related) and the only remaining man was the guy who spoke Spanish (who felt terrible about the Fiasko-Btw). Anyway, the fish came. scorpion fish. it was the actual fish we ordered (in contrast to other reviews) and it was delicious (in contrast to other reviews). Thank you. my man was no longer hungry because he had two main meals, of which he did not order. So I ate the fish. but honestly, the rest of the meal was so uncomfortable bc of the species we were treated, there was no saving gnad also with delicious food. we have never been offered water or another drink, we finished the 2nd at all without water. when the fish came, we talked about water on our way home. we still ordered dessert, we knew it would be good and it was. the best tiramisu of the trip. again. we asked for the register card, which lasted 20 minutes and surprisingly did not include the owner's mistake. so my assessment is much less sweating from this ground alone and now read all the rest of the reviews. this guy is unapologetic always right and haunts his customers. not restaurant savvy, even after being with him for 50 years. I'm sorry for the people who work for him, but he's obviously abusive for them. Maybe he hates tourist, but I've read Sardinian reviews just as badly. Even with the amazing eating and beautiful ambiente I would not give this angry person another meal."
