"We went for a traditional afternoon tea. It's very easy to find the restaurant is located right in the heart of Bath. We were booked for 12 pm, their first slot of a day, however, we had to queue to enter both pre booked and walk in come at the same time and share the same queue. The environment is peaceful, there is a reasonable distance between tables and you feel quite private. Their pianist was fantastic, he played well known pieces of music with his own improvisations. Slightly let down as it didn't look like everyone was served at the similar time there was a couple who were brought their tea first and the food after, while we were waiting for someone to approach us, and once we were brought ours, there were other visitors still waiting at empty tables. We also didn't expect one of our teas to be brewed of a teabag with the others being loose teas of a high quality, not quite fair. The food was good and it was a very generous amount. 4 plates in total (sandwiches, savoury snacks, scones and cakes). We were very full and took some cakes away. To sum up I recommend this place for an afternoon tea although, there are some points to work on, there are great positive sides to outweigh."

Treading in the footsteps of Jane Austen, enjoy a traditional tea at the iconic Pump Room with a glass of prosecco, listening to the Pump Room Trio . Not cheap but very nice. Has to be done.

Visiting Bath for the Christmas market and managed to get a table ad hoc. Loved the afternoon tea and the service and attention from the staff was excellent, yes it’s is expensive but worth it. The food was all delicious.

A group of six of us were able to have high tea at the beautiful Pump Room. We all felt it was one of the best teas we have ever had and was one of the highlights of our 2 week stay in England. Be sure to book ahead and don't miss this opportunity to dine in this lovely room steeped in history. Voir le carte

Extremely disappointing! Been to Bath in the past but this time able to go for afternoon tea to this place. At over £40.00 for one afternoon tea is not only very expensive for a meagre portion but then to add on a discretionary service charge when the service is less than satisfactory is well………… Given luke warm tea for afternoon tea in less than satisfactory would you not say? Then when asked for hot water to top up tea with hot water waitress brings out ice water!!!! Return? Probably not! What a shame!!!

like the old london bridge and the ponte vecchio it is inhabited with shops that cover every side. it is short, and the better known view is from below near the elliptical rifle. this special photo was made very close to the waitrose parking, which has river views. it is a curious look of beauty with uglyness. 2. bad was traditionally a place of recuperation and reconvalescence. the waters were supposedly good for gout and various other forms of rheuma. probably this is a reason why george saintsbury wanted to spend his last years in bath. they can visit its historic home in no 1 royal crescent, although today it is mostly on the living of the first...more

We enjoyed our afternoon tea, service was a little slow initially as although we were one of the first tables to be seated we didn’t get our tea stand for about 40 minutes but once it arrived it was very nice. Staff were all helpful and friendly. The musicians played the pride and prejudice theme tune which everyone seemed to enjoy. I’ve been to lots of afternoon teas including a very famous london hotel and overall I felt this was a little overpriced at £38.50 pp particularly as the jam was just a tiny jar for the price it would have been nicer in a small dish like the cream but nevertheless we are glad we experienced it as the Pump Room is a beautiful setting. Went as a birthday treat and offered a true traditional British experience … great location and the selection of savouries, sandwiches, scones and cakes was amazing! We pre ordered the smoked salmon starter as we thought we’d be getting very little but that was a mistake! There was more than enough having said that, the salmon was beautiful! Only two criticisms was that the trio playing seemed to spend more time talking amongst themselves than actually playing! (But when they did, they were so talented) and that at the end the waitress, who had been really attentive throughout, arrived at the table with a bill (we had prepaid) and a credit card machine for a tip! £14. We would of course have...

I took three friends to the Bath Pump Room restaurant for some expensive cocktails and even more expensive high teas. Cocktails and Food were quite nice but we were served by an incredibly rude blond east European girl. She started by telling us that it was impossible to split the bill for the cocktails and high tea as that was how she did it and there was no other option even if we placed 2 separate orders. Then soon after we received our cocktails the high teas arrived which we sent back as we didn’t want the teas to get cold. She then came to our table to berate us for this. She seemed to think we had to be finished in 90 minutes and we had to have everything at the same time. When we obj...
