Surprisingly nice pub not too far from a couple of tube lines. Nice looking food, great selection of drinks and plenty of seating available. Interesting mix of punters and overall quite pleasant

Pub atmosphere is quite warm and the staff is nice however the food was such a let down : no taste (no seasoning), cheap ingredients and some of them past due. Even though the place is nice, will not come back again

love the service here! the rooms are so beautifully decorated, the staff is very easy to walk and attentive. eating in the pub is great and is such a good value for money. location is ok, they would need city planners if they don't know, london is very good.

fantastic eating. does not expect so much quality for a place I thought from outside would be just a pub. I underestimated it and I eat and loved my time there. it was quite busy, but then again, this is the price to find somewhere with so good quality right? well, unfortunately I am not local enough to come back soon, but I recommend it.

an absolutely wonderful stay. we were here for three nights. the service was amazing. the rooms are good and bright and very clean. you sleep well here. there are only 5 rooms to stay, so they are not disturbed by loads of loud guests. the food below is phenomenal for such a place. we will be back, I have literally marked it for future stays. Used to be so good and if the owners don’t pull their fingers out it’s going downhill fast. Incredibly disinterested bar staff who just hang out in a group as if it’s their own little club, showing total contempt that someone might want to be served. Food below average. Prices above average. A real shame such a wonderful pub is under such useless, uncaring stewardship.

It baffles me how this once excellent gastropub still garners 5 star reviews. I'm perfectly happy to continue referring to this beautifully designed former gin palace as a pub but the gastro bit has well and truly left town. It's had an amusing and rather chequered history (see Wikipedia) but the current owners have really made an effort to suck out any enjoyment that used to be had in this place. Gone is the former high standard of food, to be replaced with overpriced run-of-the-mill stuff that really isn't worth having, unless you've not been fed for a week. And the latest bevy of youthful of bar staff is quite baffling; I think they were working there, given that they were standing behind...

We visited the Princess Victoria today for the first time as recommended by friends. We live locally but had never been. When we walked in we thought it seemed lovely and not as ‘old man pubby’ as we had thought from the outside. We sat down and it took about half an hour before anybody came to us and we needed to ask them to take our order. We ordered 2 beef and 2 pork roasts and some meals for the kids. The kids meal said it was £5 on the menu we were given but on the bill it was £8. We then questioned it and they brought another menu with the £8 amount written on it.
