"Everyone mourned to the old town forest house in Mettmann when it had to sneak after a long tradition. There were various rumors and stories about the reasons. Then the bureaucracy made problems and so the beautiful house was in Sleeping Beauty for years. On 14 June 2017 the Stadtwaldhaus was reopened as a restaurant, café with a great beer garden after four years of interruption. And it has become beautiful. Completely renovated. Interior beautiful wooden tables and a pleasant environment. It's Friday and we've reserved. That's good, because with time the place felt like watching. The service was very fast, maybe a little too fast, because we hardly had any place we were asked for the drinks. We suggested that we have time and want to enjoy the evening in peace without hectic, then everything was OK. The map is clear and offers something for every taste. So we chose the stone mushroom Consommé with spring onions (EUR 5,90) and the Cocos Curry soup with chicken strips also to EUR 5,90. Both soups convinced. The curry soup was delicious and had a good touch of pepper next to the curry. The deposits were sufficient. Cocos Curry Soup The main foods were, except for the Scampi prunes (EUR 13,90), also known as well. Our nice East Friese who accompanied us were the Scampi too easy, there is no freshness naja, he comes from the sea... Otherwise, the original Wiener Schnitzel with the lukewarm cucumbers of potato salad (EUR 17,90), the Saltimbocca a la Romana with thyme twistingen and salad (EUR 18,90) and the Argentinian rump steak with a pepper cream sauce and salad (EUR 19,90) were very solid. Nothing great, good and solid. Rumpsteak The wine card is small, but here you will find something suitable. We chose a Crianza from the Rioja area the bottle to EUR 19,50. A fair price in a restaurant. Overall we liked the new Stadtwaldhaus."

"Ob einem das Lila in der Deko gefällt, nun, nicht jedermanns Sache sicherlich. Aber trotzdem hat das Bellini ein gemütliches Ambiente, alles passt sehr gut zueinander in der Einrichtung. Der Service war schnell und freundlich, nach der Hauptspeise wurde die Frequenz zwar langsamer, aber verdurstet sind wir nicht. Die Küche ist hervorragend. Die Speisekarte ist nicht übermäßig gross, aber dafür wird hier offenbar frisch gekocht und nicht nur aufgewärmt. Sehr schmackhafte Gerichte, egal ob Pasta, Fisch oder Fleisch. Ich kann einen Besuch hier sehr warm empfehlen."

"Ok, this is really off the beat and track and I was introduced to this restaurant by acquaintances. It's what I call a typical German bistro and the great thing about it is what you see is what you get. We started with a salad which is part of your dish followed by a fabulous jäegerschnitzel. Cooked to perfection! As I still had room for another dish, I decided on an Argentinian rump steak with mushroom sauce and French fries, pretty much the same as dish number one. That was really good too. All in all, a great experience and good quality for money"

"catastrophic, we can't eat as we don't have one. we sat outside on the terrace. no waiter came by for 30 minutes. the waiter seemed overwhelmed and made it seem like they missed the call completely. After we had asked if we had the card, the kitchen was already closed. when we came, the kitchen was certainly not closed. especially since the waiters already had visual contact with us."

"Man sitzt auf dem Marktplatz in Mettmann toll. Wunderschönes Ambiente draußen zwischen all den Fachwerkhäusern, drinnen ist es auch gemütlich. Der Wirt und sein Personal sind offenbar Familie, gehen hervorragend mit den Gästen um, es gelingt schnell, sich da wohl zu fühlen. Die Speisekarte ist für einen Italiener typisch, Pizza, Pasta, Fleisch mit einer kleinen, aber feinen Tgeskarte. Hervorragend war die Zubereitung der Speisen, toll al dente gekochte und hervorragend abgeschmeckte Nudeln in einer sehr leckeren Basilikum-Tomaten-Sauce. Das schmeckte richtig frisch und lecker incl. aller Beilagen zum Gericht. Hervorragende Küche, auch die Portion war gut, so dass man weder hungrig noch übermäßig satt das Lokal wieder verlassen hat. Einzig die Preise der Tagesgerichte scheinen mir im Vergleich zu den Gerichten der dauerhaften Karte etwas zu teuer. Aber das tut der Freude keinen Abbruch, es gibt viele 08/15-Italiener, hier habe ich einen entdeckt, das das ganz sicher nicht ist, sondern mehr als einen Besuch wert ist."
