"We were visiting the cooking class Street Food Italiano. At the beginning there were mandatory cappuccino, espresso or classic coffee to know. Further in the kitchen there was an overview of the dishes and their preparation. The ingredients used, consisting of seafood, fish, meat and vegetables, were carefully compiled and of very high quality. Ervin gave a variety of tips, creating a good exchange and understanding of the preparation. It has been very much fun to cook with other participants and exchange ideas. The food was just excellent. A new interpretation of Italian cuisine! Also a great experience for companies or larger groups!"

"I must admit, German-Greek is not often worth talking about, but there are exceptions!Meltemi is very fresh, modern take on Greek cuisine. You can still get pommes and kraut salad with your moussaka if you must, but I hope you don't!Everything is prepared fresh from fresh ingredients and there is a lite, modern flare to the traditional (and not so traditional dishes).We had several wonderful starters, including the zucchini puffs, and then I had the fresh chicken breast, with wonder red-wine souse. My wife had the moussaka and my son a chicken souvlaki -- everyone was happy (even me -- and I was prepared to be grumpy about eating heavy, "pommesbude" quality Greek, but surprise!).The atmosphere is clean and modern; the service was great and the wine list well thought out and well priced.In fact, everything was well priced for the quality and preparation put into it.The online reservation system is also a pleasant surprise (particularly since Mein deutsch ist immer noch schrecklich!)We'll definitely be back and I look forward to trying their salads."

"Due to a fair being on in town we couldn’t utilise any of our usual hotels close to Dusseldorf and found ourselves stuck out in the sticks and instead of our usual trip to the Altstadt were faced with an exciting evening in Ratingen. And...although we were not expecting much, am very happy to report the Ratinger Brauhaus proved us wrong. It’s deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. You enter into the main dining room with some brewing kit at the far end and the bar to the right. But then to the right of the central bar are two equally large dining room areas. Nearly every space was occupied when we rocked up around on this midweek evening but full marks to the Brauhaus for squeezing a party of in within minutes or so. It was the usual traditional meat heavy menu with a focus on pork as you get in Brahauses, with the odd fish dish thrown in. And the five different dishes we tried between us were all good. The Ratinger Alt was also surprisingly good and there was certainly no argument from me when three glasses of this and my pork Knuckle came to euro’s. I may have to come to Ratingen more often!"
