"The Alt Lich was a pleasant little restaurant about 1 block from the main pedestrian street. With just nine tables in the main dining room, it was tastefully decorated, rather in a traditional style of a small German restaurant. We had called ahead for a reservation and were asked if we could move our reservation either an hour earlier or later because a large group was expected. This turned out to be a wise decision because the server was able to give both our party and the large party full attention. We had also indicated that we were celebrating a wedding aniversary and if we could have a table on the side and have it decorated. They complied and we found the table to be very nicely set up when we arrived. The service was excellent with the server waiting until we had comfortably finished a course before the next was served. Each dish was served at the appropriate temperature. The food was outstanding. The menu was all ala carte but the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Two different soups were ordered, one a "baerlauch" (wild garlic/ramsoms) soup and the other beef broth soup with noodles. Both were outstanding. Baerlauch was in season and was new to me. It was essentially a light cream soup with pureed baerlauch, giving it a very subtle and unique taste, and containing two raviolis filled with baerlauch. The beef soup was clearly freshly prepared natural broth and was also outstanding. Three of the party ordered the Argentinian rumpsteak with roasted vegetables. The steak was about 4 cm thick and was perfectly cooked, having ordered it rare or "English" style. The roasted vegetables included a mixture of zucchini, green beans, red pepper with olive oil and baerlauch, perfectly cooked and mildly seasoned. The fourth person had a pork steak with roasted potatoes. The pork was also perfectly cooked and very juicy. A simple dessert of walnut ice cream was ordered as we all were comfortably full with the two courses. Of course, as we were in Lich, we had the local Licher beer which is always good. Overall, we had an extremely pleasant evening. I enthusiatically recommend trying this restaurant. I have eaten in many local restaurants throughout Germany and consider this one of my more memorable meals."

"General Alte Klostermühle on the grounds of the monastery ruin Arnsburg, right on the way from the highway to the town of Lich. The old walls, the large trees, the whole terrain radiates a certain amount of radiance and tranquility. A place where you want to stay. And an appropriate gastronomic offer invites you. Tables and chairs on tile floor under shadow or tree shadow, which is positive. For many years, gastronomy has been in the same direction. There was a qualitatively very fluctuating offer. From very excellent to good, it was, you were always surprised. In good times, gastronomy was a real highlight, but as a connoisseur, one thought of a recommendation. The restaurant has been thoroughly redesigned for a short time and is under new leadership. In the approach with new fresh kitchen, significantly reduced card and only a fraction of the wide range of the predecessor. Operation Here two young men work under the direction of a driver of the service. The gentlemen are fleeting, unfortunately still somewhat uncertain. Willy, unfortunately, still very inexperienced. But with the devotion shown, this will be really good. Although there was nothing directly at the service that could be complained about. With the exception of the unssitte, to provide all tables with protected shields in order to be able to reject such unloved guests. This is the reason to check from the staff. Food Even food is allowed to put under the motto, we have just opened up new. I had a table top with potato tamphe and carrots. And that's exactly what I have, the best quality of ingredients, but unfortunately still quite tasteless. This can be natural cuisine, unfortunately it is also quite boring. Such a bit more spices on the meat egg, a crimp in the carrots and a crumb salt in the potatoes would certainly not have spoiled anything. My wife had Wiener Schnitzel from veal with roast potatoes and salad. Well, the carving had a little butter taste and came out of the pan and not from the unsatisfactory frit. Bratkartoffel have even more own taste thanks to fat. And enough salt gives the whole a real taste. The atmosphere Unfortunately the outdoor area was completely boring. Wooden tables with cast iron base are not bad, but the plastic baskets fit into this monastery ambience as the famous fist. Here, the approach is unfortunately only slightly implemented in the mainstream. Very different the new interior. There was really a sympathetic modern ambience. Very good. Cleanliness The house is clean and well maintained. However, the toilet facilities are very limited."

Zum Heiligen Stein

"Ich war heute zu Gast im Restaurant Zum heiligen Stein, und schildere gerne meine Eindrücke. Der Kellner, der mich den ganzen Abend betreuen würde, hat mir sehr freundlich empfangen. Zum Einstand gab es einen Gruß aus der Küche, was ich nicht für selbstverständlich erachte. Meine Vorspeise ein Gazpacho war wirklich hervorragend. Das Vitello Tonato hingegen war gut, aber nichts Besonderes. Etwas dicke Scheiben von Kalb, etwas wenig Sauce. Als Zwischgang habe ich die Pasta mit Trüffel gegessen, und hier muss man eindeutig sagen: Mit Blick auf die Portionsgröße ist das für einige eine Hauptspeise, für mich allenfalls ein Zwischengang. Die Pasta hat insgesamt gut geschmeckt. Danach habe ich noch das Wiener Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat gegessen, was mir sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Zum Abschluss gab es eine tolle Creme Brulee und einen Espresso. (Für alle, die mich schon geistig Body Shamen: Mein BMI liegt bei 21. Fazit zum Essen: Rein subjektiv haben für mich Preis und Leistung nicht ganz gestimmt. Natürlich werden gute Zutaten verwendet, aber rechtfertigen diese den Preis, bzw. die Portionen? Für mich leider nicht ganz. Das Geschmackserlebnis war insgesamt positiv, hat mich aber nicht schwärmen lassen. Gute Küche zu etwas zu gehobenen Preisen. Fazit zum Kellner: Ein sehr netter Herr, der sehr aufmerksam war, und es geschafft hat, zu jedem Gang nach meinem Wohl zu fragen, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ich kann mich nur positiv äußern. Fazit zum Ambiente: Ich war aufgrund des Wetters ausschließlich auf der Terrasse, und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Gesamtfazit: Wer sich die Bilder im Netz und die Speisekarte anschaut, wird relativ schnell merken, wer hier verkehrt, und wer eben nicht. Wer nicht auf den Geldbeutel achtet, und gutes Essen genießen möchte, ist hier richtig. Das Restaurant leistet gute Arbeit."

"Es tut mir so leid, ich würde gerne mehr Sterne geben da die Bedienung mega nett und das Essen an sich gut war! Jedoch: Abgelaufene Cola bekommen einige Spinnenweben sehr offensichtlich an der Kopfseite des Tisches, warum macht man die nicht weg? Dauert 20 Sekunden Holztisch mit extrem schiefen Brettern als Tischplatte, Teller haben während des Essens/ Schneidens permanent gewippt und man konnte seine Gläser erst nach Suche eines geeigneten Balkens abstellen 1x komplett falsches Gericht gemacht, Gast musste nochmal lange auf sein Gericht warten. Wir waren fertig, da hat er seins erst bekommen. Rechnung manuell zusammen gerechnet sich dabei um 10 Euro verrechnet Das Alles kann vereinzelt mal passieren. Aber alles gleichzeitig heute war ungünstig."

"We liked eating food there. The map was a beautiful mix of traditional and more modern Italian dishes, delicious pizza and delicious carvings. Service well. After some time we were not there, we decided our Christmas dinner on 2nd holiday in Calabria. Hard mistake! As we found later, the card was completely changed. Now everything is trimmed with truffles, buckets and liquors on the upper kitchen. The prices are accordingly screwed into the height. Unfortunately, neither kitchen nor service meet this requirement. The fact that there is a shortened card on holidays is normal and completely okay. Unfortunately, all the carving dishes on which my husband and my father-in-law were so happy were sold out. Keep Lasagne and Pizza Toscana. Three lasagna came, 3x lukewarm and so a small part that a normal adult cannot be fed. The pizza didn't come first. After the lasagna was reheated from the kitchen at the table (not without comment, but without apology with raised eyebrows), the pizza also came. The lush edge (almost 1/3 of the whole pizza) carrot burned black and not to eat. For the bargain price of over 13, € per dish. I can't. No comment on the burnt pizza residue on the plate again. My note that I want to replace the burned pizza rim for a free espresso was shoulder-cracked. Weak picture. We're not coming back."
