"After enjoying a lovely family film at the Vue cinema we made are way to our reservation at PizzaExpress when entering the restaurant we had to queue in the doorway for about four minutes as there was a couple in front of us waiting to...be seen to . A host eventually arrived and sat the couple didn’t acknowledge us and then disappeared , On her return we were asked for the name which i gave and she said table was for three persons I corrected her that we were a four as myself and my husband and our two girls were stood together, she then argued the fact the booking was a three not a four until I presented the email. She ran off then return to say they didn’t have my booking so again i presented her with the email confirmation she again left to talk to what I’m guessing was a manager of some description . she returned and said that it was policy not to hold tables more than minutes so we had missed are reservation and could not be seated . When I point out that we had arrived at and it was now as we have been going back and fourth and had to wait to be seen. She then ran off again to the Manager who then threw his Arms up in the air and stormed over to us and told us that we had missed are booking and there was nothing he was going to do about it , I explain to him that we had arrived in time I’ve been a lot of back-and-forth we have too hungry seven-year-olds so when could he seat us he said about but we needed to wait outside !! I explain to him that I wasn’t happy to wait outside with two in the cold and dark he said if we didn’t leave he would call security to remove us !! I have never been spoken to with such aggression and so rudely in my adult life and would never expect someone in the hospitality industry to speck in such a manor , there was plenty of empty table unlaid as well as laid and people waiting to pay their bills clearly everyone in that restaurant was under pressure and couldn’t cope with the volume but this is not an excuse for bad customer service And to threaten a mother with ludicrous actions in front of her children . it was a horrendous experience and wouldn’t want anybody else to have to deal with someone with no professionalism or manners."

I had a dinner with some friends, I hadn't eaten this day, so that I had cleaned myself a garlic pizza, and later I became violently sick and brought it up again. do not go here if they appreciate her...lining

No matter which branch of this restaurant we use, the visits are always consistent. We generally stop off at the Gunwharf Portsmouth branch when it is a nice day and we can take advantage of the outdoor seating area, which has been a huge bonus...during the various Covid restrictions of the last couple of years.

Just had the most amazing meal ever and absolutely brilliant service from all the staff! The food was out of this world and our waitress Alex went above and beyond and was so friendly and helpful. Luke the manager was also so lovely and helpful...and couldn't do enough for us and made our visit so memorable and fantastic! Thanks so much for having us, we'll definitely be returning! :D

When we arrived we were shown to our table by a young man who threw the menus on the table and walked away! Not a good start! However, the waitress who eventually took our order was lovely, very friendly. Food was nice, presented nicely but...nothing out of the ordinary. Being honest, if the waitress hadn’t been so good we would have walked out, someone needs to brush up on their customer service skills!

when we arrived, there was a waiting queue to sit, but the service and greeting was nice. when we had ordered, I went to the toilet and the bathroom of the men was closed, so I had to go down the stairs to the. use disabled toilets. when the food arrived, it was delicious and possibly one of the best meals I had! the personal was very friendly and accommodating as well as very professional. overall it was a very good experience, but with just a few hiccups.

Went yesterday with my boyfriend. Hadn’t eaten anything else that day so far and me and him shared a starter. We had separate pizzas (he had a margarita and I had a veniziana) and when I got home I felt so ill and it was...clear I’d gotten food poisoning. He was fine and had no food poisoning so it clearly was because of the veniziana pizza. The service was great and food tasted good but definitely would be better if it hadn’t made me ill. Not too happy overall.

Visited with my partner tonight. Ordered a coke and a beer for drinks, when the beer arrived it was warm so I had to ask for it to be swapped for wine as it was “all warm” apparently. I don’t expect this when it a bottle. When the food arrived the Lasagne looked and tasted good but the pizza was like a frozen pizza from Aldi and tasted like one too. The Halloumi bites were….well didn’t taste like Halloumi. All in all I was very disappointed by the food and won’t be returning.

booked tables, one for girls and another to keep them from the far away in the eye and they got the stand that was prefect. super welcome to the door that remembered our booking requirements that was beautiful. great service from a young lady. after the girls who had a great time. while we waited for me to have calamari and a hot Romana pizza, the calamari was some of the best I had in some time. I must be honest, this is not my type of place, would usually just pass, but the gunwharf pizza express has not failed the birthday girl and her kumpels. and my bits and the limited inlay meantime bier was more than good enough.
