"This review was an absolute MUST ! This isn’t your usual Turkish takeaway. Where do i start… The Chicken Shish kebab… The Chicken is sooo tender, it literally melts in your mouth like butter (which if you no your food, chicken is often hard to get right and let me tell you they have mastered it! This is served with the freshest salad and mouth watering homemade bread the quality from start to finish is on point! I then had the pleasure of trying Chicken Shish wrap which was recommended to me and omg literally it was so AMAZING i couldn’t help myself and had it 3 nights in a row haha! The chicken again perfect, the salad and favours mixed together with garlic mayo and chilli sauce in sort tortilla wrap, the only rating i can give this is 10/10! My husband had the Lamb Doner which again he couldn’t fault only complimented on how good it was and nothing he has ever had before (and he has had allot of kebabs lol and then for the 2nd night i convinced him that the Chicken Shish Wrap was a must try! and no surprises he absolutely loved it! We have also had the cheese pide which was mouth watering. The kids had pizza and chips which we also tried and again WOW. All i can say is if you want good quality food that is authentic, fresh and very very tasteful ! this is the place to go, you will not be disappointed! I am definitely looking forward in trying the rest of the menu :"

"Posting on behalf of PeterfromSandhurst, who was limited to only review per month. As I was of the people on this visit, I agree with everything that has been said and whole heartedly recommend the Lord Raglan for family visits. On to...the actual review. visit, this time with six people comprising three generations aged (that day) to almost We agreed that we would just keep ordering one or two plates every minute or so and share them so we could all eat the entire menu, a bit at a time. Over hours and plates of food later the results were in, we had eaten the menu! The clear favourite by show of hands (from the little ones and the ladies) was the sticky toffee pudding (no surprises there). Choosing favourites after that was very hard indeed as they were all good. The haddock was excellent with a close dense batter that was both light but substantial (don’t ask me how) and closely hugged the good sized piece of fish. It held heat well, tasted good (both batter and fish) and remained crisp until the last bite despite not rushing to eat it. The chicken (breast pieces in the sharing platter and the smoky spicy thighs dish) were also great. Moist, very tasty but the thighs a tad spicy/smoky for the children (the smoky hit is pretty instant for a kid) but the adults all loved them, the crunchy crusted breast fillets were loved by all. The ribs were moist, delicious, plentiful and fell apart simply by looking at them. The meat board (usually a shared starter) scored highly again with the juicy pork leek sausages beautifully finished with scorched crispy skin just like the very best BBQs can manage but still wonderfully moist inside. Pulled brisket very juicy, still not sure what they use instead of butter but it works perfectly. The Korean chicken burger with kimchi was a hit with my wife (she hadn’t had kimchi before) leaving a nice afterglow without any blast of heat. She just read this and said “The sausages were delicious, I really liked those, next time I go, I am going to have sausage and mash”. Well that’s her bit done. Oh, and by the way, it was steak day (every Thursday it seems), and the steaks come as a package with chips, a sauce choice and a drink (soft or wine etc) at discounted prices, so we had a few of those too. Ordered medium rib eyes, held our breath, and low and behold medium rib eyes arrived (well done chef! And eat your heart out Miller and Carter). So if you are sick to death of places that can’t cook a steak properly, try here. I hadn’t eaten Mac and cheese for years but tried that too and found the cheese was great, had a real intense depth of flavour and lovely grilled crusty edges (that you pick out of your teeth for the next minutes mmmm). If you have the time to spend a few hours mid week with people you love in a quirky but relaxed atmosphere you could do worse than try this tasting menu approach to culinary socialising. The Staff could not have been more accommodating, despite the unconventional nature of our visit. Thank you Beth and Leah, you did an excellent job. I made a couple of remarks on my first visit about how I might improve things if I was permitted to stick my oar in and again. Bang, they had been implemented just two days later. Amazing stuff Lily (boss), you are a star. Any kitchen that consistently turns out dish after dish like this one does, has something going right. See you again soon."

"RACIST!!! My husband was in this area with his colleague last night. His colleague was hungry and wanted hot food. My husband wanted nothing. His colleague asked him to check to see if Gaylord Tandoori was open, while he went into the Tesco express opposite. My husband walked to the restaurant read the offers in the window and the A-board outside. Two men came outside from the restaurant and stood blocking the door and asked my husband if there was a problem. Hubby clarified that he was reading that offers they had posted up. The staff told him that they were closed, still standing in the doorway. He thought nothing of it, went into the Tesco express to tell his colleague that they were closed and went back to his vehicle. A short while later, his colleague approached their vehicle completely incensed and outraged. His colleague explained that he had walked across to Gaylord Tandoori himself and as he walked in the restaurant, he was given a menu and and was asked to sit down. He felt so hurt by this overt act of profiling and racism and he wanted to know why. They both entered the restaurant to get an explanation. The restaurant staff were shocked when the two men walked in together and didn’t know what to say. My husband’s colleague asked them for an explanation. One staff member stood around the corner to avoid explaining and the other couldn’t find words. Why was it that one of them was blocked, denoting a problem and sent packing and the other allowed to come in and sit down? If it’s not clear by now: my husband is black and his colleague is white. Hubby’s colleague told them off. They then offered to give them both a sit down meal. Weren’t they closed???..."

"I ordered some sushi and noodles for the evening dinner with my family. Since we normally order from Osaka we decided to give another restaurant a go and never again. The rolls were fine (rice was ok, good hosomaki, remaking soft but we didn’t...expect the seaweed to stay crispy since we order delivery, alright uramaki with avo and salmon on top however the sashimi on top of the roll was very thick and in places hard to chew which is okay, can’t blame the salmon). My vegan temakis were right next to the salmon roll, in one box, even though they could have been put with the other vege maki... Overall rolls were fine. However the noodles were an atrocity... the noodles we received were simply not edible, mashed up in a tiny container, looked like someone had to sit on them in order for them to close, prawns on top of the noodles were super soft and wet since they were on the noodles and not in a separate container. The noodles themselves were falling apart with the slightest touch, as if they were cooked for way too long, I could count maybe three pieces of veg in the dish, overall- a disaster... but the best part starts when deliveroo connected me to the restaurant I was basically told to stop lying, that what I say isn’t true and they won’t do anything about the fact that the noodles are straight up disgusting because no one ever complains about their food and the chef and the boss agree to send another order of noodles if I pay for them because otherwise it’s sending food for free. Our conversation lasted for 18 minutes during which I was called a liar, I was told to stop, I was told that there can’t be anything wrong with the food and that noodles were perfect they were perfectly jammed into a tiny box and flavourless mush instead of noodles... After 18 minutes very unhappily the man I spoke with agreed to refund the money for the noodles, apologised after calling me pretty much an idiot to his boss as they shouted back and forth without muting the mic so I could hear everything loud and clear. Would not recommend the take away service."

"Drinks ordered 2 pints of Fosters at £5.25/pint, served in generic unbranded glasses. When I asked the barmaid “are all the Fosters’ glasses waiting to be washed”, she replied “no, we don’t have any Fosters branded glasses, we only have these unbranded glasses”. The lager soon went flat as the unbranded pint glasses did not have the basic standard nucleated head saver at the base of the glass. It’s a bit rich to charge £5.25 then have the audacity to serve it in a non branded cheap money saving glass! Food we ordered the creamy garlic mushroom starters, eventually arrived were barely tepid. When asked by the waitress was everything all right, I commented by saying the starters were both just tepid that we’d appreciate the main courses being hot. Main courses arrived, got order wrong on one of the dishes, chips not fries but accepted the error. My wife had the pie dish I had the lasagne. AGAIN, both dishes were served tepid majority of food left untouched. The kitchen staff need to understand the simple basics of cooking hot food should be served hot. Why? Simple, heat brings out the flavour of the food, that’s why it’s supposed to be served hot! Or if the kitchen staff do understand the relevance importance of serving hot dishes hot then maybe it’s a simple case of a couldn’t care attitude. A couple of evenings later we visited the Good Companion pub not more than half a mile down the same road incredible friendly atmosphere with plenty of staff to serve on a very busy night, Fosters £4.25/pint served in excellent Fosters glasses, piping hot very tasty food served at sensible prices. Watch out George, you have a significant competitor on your doorstep. You will need to raise your game to a minimal basic standard to have any chance of surviving!"
