"This place does have some very impressive cuts of meat, Tomahawks even. The price point is also comparable with at least what you would get at a specialty steak place in the SF Bay. I could tell by the coloring that they do age at least some of their meats, those in their glass display. First be aware that the Yelp map marker is wrongly placed. It should be on the opposite side of the street. I was stubborn trying to find the place and eventually figured it out. Anyway, I wasn't expecting much from the display case t-bone as the inter-muscular fat was not apparent due to the color shift in aging. I like my meats thicker cut... about 2.5cm. Heid's was about half that. They physiologically made up for that by delivering the steak carved on the bias to make the cut appear thicker. Thinner cuts are more difficult to get the med-rare right and I have to say mine was a little too much past med-rare. Acceptable though, good taste."

Heid's is one of our favorite restaurants. The ambiance is lovely and the food is very good. Their bread is delish and their meats are consistently good. Their deserts are great too! We love the rustic decor.

Delicious steak and the steak sauces they include are really good too. The sides are vegetables and potatoes, and both are tasty. I got a smoked salmon salad that was just alright. I suggest getting steak if you come here. It is a nice restaurant but it's not too fancy.

If your looking for a good American style restaurant I would definitely recommend visiting Heid's. Very beautiful location, live DJ and most important of all great food. The restaurant is somewhat on the pricey side but worth every penny the food and the staff working there are amazing. . Voir le carte

Previously an un-successful seafood restaurant, Heid 's is now one of the only places in Heidelberg that can truly hold that 'steakhouse ' personality. With a wide range of filets and cuts to choose from, Heid 's offers premium meats along side potatoes and mixed vegetables. The delivery and appearance of the meal is fantastic, with elaborate decor, quick service, and an excellent atmosphere. The location is a little iffy however, (its right across a U.S. army base) a few miles out of the town center, and parking is very limited. Also, don 't be confused if you see some leftover oceanic decorum such as the giant crab at the entrance or indoor aquariums!
