"What a lovely little place Petals is. We (myself, my wife and my mum) called in on the off chance at lunch time. The tea room was busy but we were met with a warm wlecome and they gave us a table that would have...seated twice our number. Lovely varied menu and the food we had was all delicious make sure you are hungy though as the portions are plentiful. My mum (84) couldn't manage all of her sandwich and they kindly offered foil to wrap it and a takeaway bag so she could save it for later. Good value too in my opinion."

Great little tea room off the main road. Great hot chocolate and shared a garlic bread with home cooked ham and stilton. Will definitely be returning.

Visited with a wheelchair and sat in a spacious outside shelter. Staff were welcoming friendly and nothing was any trouble. Had hot drinks, lunch and cake within our group and food was fantastic. Excellent value for money

Beautiful little cafe attached to a garden centre and retreat. Friendly staff and great menu. Ordered homemade quiche with new potatoes, salad and freshly made coleslaw. Amazing : Cake was equally fantastic. Highly recommended

Found this wonderful little gem of a tea room just off the A1017 Halstead area. It is beautiful inside with comfy chintz chairs. We just stopped for coffee but we will be back on a later occasion as the home cooked food looked super. I...had the lemon drizzle cake which was served with cream a strawberry too. Staff were welcoming friendly. We will be back thank you. Voir le carte

What a beautiful, pleasant place for a lunch. We are a huge garlic bread with cheddar and ham which was a meal in itself and an egg, chicken, ham, cheddar and chilli jam club sandwich. The food was brilliant quality, and the staff...were lovely. There are some good jams and preserves at the till. It’s a credit to the staff that this is such a resource for local people.

After finding this hidden gem on Facebook I booked it for my sisters hen, I booked out our own little area and it was lovely, the staff left us alone while we had fun and played games, nothing was to much trouble, good communication throughout...the whole process from booking to arranging times petals tea room is definitely one to visit, the food was lovely, I will be going back for sure,

The service at this restaurant is extremely slow. It took forty minutes for our order of a simple quiche and baguette, even though we were told it would only take fifteen minutes. The food was nothing special when it finally arrived, and overall, the experience was amateurish. I would recommend avoiding Petals Tea Rooms if you are hungry or diabetic, as the wait time for food could lead to ketoacidosis or a coma. Voir le carte

Julie and her team did a fantastic job hosting a wonderful Christmas dinner for our club members. The room was beautifully decorated and there was plenty of space for us to enjoy our meal. We were served turkey, stuffing, chipolatas, and a variety of freshly cooked vegetables. The dessert options were also great, as I chose the Eton Mess. Overall, it was a delightful experience and one of the best Christmas celebrations our club has had.

I have visited Petals multiple times with my husband and mother-in-law. The ambiance is unique, with plenty of interesting things to look at and enjoy while waiting for the freshly prepared food. There are no microwaves here, so the food is definitely worth the wait. It's a nice break from our busy lives to relax and enjoy a proper lunch while waiting for our meal. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, with big personalities and bright smiles. A big thank you to everyone, we will definitely be returning.

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."
