"We had lunch here after the visit to the Vatican (it’s not really that close, about 15 minute walk). We ordered: The grilled octopus: decent price, well cooked The schnitzel: not very big, it was a bit rough to cut and eat. Grilled vegetables: aubergine was undercooked, the bell pepper was a bit cold and burned and the zucchini was just ok. We also ordered a water, all this came to €36, no coperto was charged. What I need to point out, is that the service was just terrible, when taking our order, the waiter told me to give him a second to write down (the 3 things we asked for) in a very aggressive manner. The we asked for salt, he gave it to another table and when we pointed this out he stomped it in our table. We did not feel like asking him for anything more at this point and opted for other servers. Around the restaurant we could also see that things were not going well, on one table the got the order wrong 4 times, on another they brought the wrong dish, when the person pointed this out they did not receive and apology and a correction, but he was confronted and told that was what he ordered and they brought the menu so he point out what he wanted, then they fixed the mistake. The food was fine, but with the service they offer, I would not recommend this restaurant."

It's not bad, the cacio e pepe I had was a little more watery than creamy but the seafood pasta that my wife had was fantastic.

We probably had our best dinner and the most beautiful service at Papa Rex. The Ravioli was made perfect and with her recommendation I went for today's dessert. It was so soft and creamy with the sweetest chocolate advantage. Thank you, Claudio!

We had several meals at Papa Rex, while we were in Rome. We received excellent service from all staff. We enjoyed the leisurely pace of our meals, Excellent house wine both white and red. Great attention to the fresh preparation and presentation of each course. From Antipasti to Dessert, Pictured is the Salmon with roasted vegetables. The flavors were amazing. Thank you, Claudio. Culinary experience and quality of food make for an amazing time. My wife and I, together with another couple, showed up here at the first night in Rome and met the most wonderful man Claudio who was not only our server, but who entertained us in this and other time. From a morning song and dance to presentations of lobster and fish he was amazing. Oh and the food was impeccable, both quality of ingredients and preparations were top notches. It is also a good place to spray an aperol or have five.

Food was pretty good, nothing too great, wait times were decent, prices are decent, but we had a really bad experience with the waiter, who after 2 of the 4 of us didn 't want a drink, just food, decided to have a pretty arrogant attitude, constantly sighing while delivering our plates, and after we payed the bill, told us that the tip was cash only. Of course there was no room for tip with such attitude. After we left I saw him on through the windows waving towards us in frustration, probably dissapointed that we didn 't leave a tip for his great service.

Found this real jewel of a restaurant during your stay in Rome June 2022! Food was amazing and so many fabulous choices. We had 18 people in our group so we were happy to taste many different dishes and everything was exceptional! The real highlight is the staff! So friendly and very entertaining! Best service, quality and felt like a part of their family at the end of dinner. I want to go back to Rome to go to Papa Rex Ristorante! Do not miss this experience because it is not in the heart of Rome. Only on the outskirts, 5 min taxi ride and so it is worth it. It's more in the neighborhood. Voir le carte

We were a very large group of people, 18 of us. Such a great experience! Our waiter was just amazing. So much fun but yet still professional and treated us so well and never seemed stressed out. I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed so hard and so much! The food was also soooo good. Prices were more than reasonable but portions were just right. I had the beef and it was so good. Cooked very well. I rarely eat beef but I was on vacation so what the heck. The portions were such that we got to taste a little of each others meals. I definitely recommend that if you are in Rome that you try this place. US traveler.

It 's was a very pleasant dinner! The service was excellent! We had a charming waiter. Very friendly and had good humor, not to much, a good amount! The food was very nice! We had the tagliere papa Rex and insalata di mare as first course, salmone in crosta di sesamo con contorno di verdure grigliate and pizza caprese as main dish. The finale was a Tiramisu and a torta all 'arancia . Every single course was very good, especially for the price. We drank two glasses of wine, a big bottle of mineral water and one espresso. The open house wine was very good as well. We paid 72,5€! I would recommend it to anyone, it was very good food in combination with a nice atmosphere and good friendly servic...
