"Popped in for a quick coffee and pasty for lunch, staff still friendly but the quality of the pasty I had was well below previous standard- they'd always been a favourite before. Tiny pieces of meat, not much of it, an excess of sliced vegetables and a lack of flavour- I felt corners had been cut. I enquired if the supplier had changed and was told no, the same as always...I returned my plate to counter as a disappointment. The staff apologised but did not offer a replacement or refund and I chose not to pursue it or comment further. We finished our coffees and mentally removed The Oggy Oggy Pasty shop from our favoured pasty list."

Simply put, the food here is really good. The gluten free steak pastie is a must-try and worth the journey to this restaurant. They also serve excellent coffee. Bonus: they offer gluten free options.

The food was decent and the service was good. However, we were a bit disappointed to pay over 6 pounds for a very small pasty and a small pie. It seems like the prices may be reflecting the current economic times. Voir le carte

Par cooked baguette served straight from being defrosted no time in the oven , didn’t bother taking it back as lost any confidence that they could do any better . Coffee not the best either but at least it was drinkable

I was disappointed that I hadn't visited a bakery in a long time, but I have always enjoyed them. However, yesterday on May 31st, I ordered a pasty and chips. The pasty had clearly been reheated in a microwave, as the pastry was soft instead of crispy like I had expected. I should have complained at the time, but I was hungry and ended up eating it anyway.

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
