"We had to wait in a long line for two hours at this restaurant. When we finally got to the till to place our order, the staff seemed confused and unsure of what they were doing. We ordered a coffee, tea, and a cake. After we paid, we realized we hadn't been given any milk for the tea. The worker scrambled to find a small pot of milk, but it looked like it was meant for sauces due to the lack of a pouring lip. When we sat down at our table, we found that there were no knives or spoons. When we asked for them at the counter, we were given a dirty knife and told that there were only wooden sticks available. The service was terrible and it seems like M&S has really gone downhill. There are much better places to eat at, and we will not be returning here."

It is very comfortable and good quality and very popular but spoiled by too few staff leading to long queues. It’s a shame but it seems to the norm nowadays with the bigger companies

Bought the smashed avocado with poach eggs on toast. The avocado was mixed with fresh coriander which is something I cannot eat . Had to return it. No mention of coriander on the board menu. WHY

Slow, slow, very very slow! Waited ages in the queue then had to wait 40 mins for a bacon roll. Tea was cold by the time it arrived. Streaky, greasy bacon so left most of it. Not worth the price or the wait. Never again.

We went for afternoon cream tea which was excellent. My only complaint was that after we sat down it seems that they forgot about us. Eventually however we got the tea which was very good. Great scones and cream. Nice to be served tea in real, individual tea pots.

Disgusting food served cold after a wait of almost 45 minutes! Was offered a replacement but with another long wait I declined so offered a hot drink instead. Hardly fair. I remember the days when m s actually valued its customers. Will never set foot in here again why would I with so many other places to choose from in Manchester that actually give a damn !! Do yourselves a favour and go somewhere else.

While the cafe appears clean and the staff are polite, there is a noticeable lack of management to ensure the smooth operation of the cafe. I waited nearly 15 minutes for a toasted sandwich, causing my cup of tea to get cold. Another person at my table also felt the service has been consistently poor, sharing her past experiences. Additionally, the cafe is not user-friendly for older or less abled individuals who must queue up to order. The staff also lack a sense of urgency while serving customers.

We went to the M&S cafe as a family for breakfast, you queue and pay at the counter and the food is brought to your table, the products were great as you expect from M&S but my poached eggs were hard boiled (see photo) and the hash brown soggy and cold in the middle, the tea was great, served in a proper pot. And the restaurant was clean, but tables could be cleared and cleaned quicker, sachets of sauce and condiments, which were tricky and a bit of a bother to open. Not toilets situated near the cafe, you had to go down two floors through the whole store, if you need the bathroom.

Service absolutely terrible. Waited over 30 mins for food after being seated with hot drinks for 2 people. Food finally arrived which poached eggs that were cold other order was completely wrong. All our order was sent back due to this. Waited again to be served with only one person order so I had to wait another 10 mins for my order. Having waited over 40 mins my second poached egg, advocardo arrived but again eggs were cold. The staff did not seem to care what so ever as if it's normal to get cold food, there was no urgency to our concerns. Very poor customer service, food tasteless and cold and definitely not value for money. Totally disappointing would definitely not return !

We waited in line for a long time at the restaurant only to be greeted by a very grumpy young man named Toby. He seemed annoyed when we requested a plate for our scone and then accidentally spilled the tea all over the tray and cookies. When we asked for some tissues or a cloth to clean it up, he said there weren't any available. Despite pointing out the roll of blue paper behind him, he ignored us and complained to a coworker. The other staff members at different tills were friendly and efficient, but Toby seemed unhappy to be there and not suited for the job. We were polite customers who only wanted a plate and some tissues to clean up the spill, so we were disappointed by his attitude.
