"Very good but bizarrely mind boggling Chose this resturant as reviews of food good and never been there before. Choice of food excellent and quality very good. Staff very attentive. Not much atmosphere and has the feel of a cafe albeit comfortable furnishings. We did realise this establishment did accommodation until we went to the toilet and then the most bizarre happened. Two apparently residents came into the resturant and sat at the table next to us, unwrapped fish and chips that they had brought from elsewhere and started to eat them!! The whole resturant then was overcome by the smell of vinegar and you could have been sitting in a chip shop. Not pleasant! I would go here again but only as a casual visit."

The food was really nice, good choice. Just a shame there was a lack of atmosphere. Two sections to the restaurant and we were in what I would class as the 'overflow ' bit. It was very quiet.

We booked here as we were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and had mentioned this on booking through Open Table. Unfortunately the restaurant were obviously unaware of the special occasion which was a shame, as an acknowledgement of this would have added to the evening. I don’t see the point in mentioning it when booking if this info isn’t going to be used. Despite this we had a lovely evening with friendly staff and tasty food and would definitely recommend Michael’s Brasserie.
