Melro - Carte

A humble and clean cafe in a great area. Really good for working or studying. WIFI works perfectly, even outside, and the coffee and food was good too!

Great place with good music and atmosphere. I really enjoyed my Pastel de Nata and my cappuccino was pretty good too. Would definitely come back again.

on a quiet corner in kreuzberg is the melro portuguese bistro, one of the few places in berlin, where such delicacies are to be found as the multi-pronounced pastel de nata. too.

This cafe has great spots outside along the quiet street where you can relax with a cappucino and enjoy the vibe. Free wifi, friendly staff and reasonable prices. The müsli is a must! Voir le carte

Ich sollte lt. Bedienung eine halbe Stunde auf meinen Tee warten, da der Laden, wie natürlich zur Mittagszeit auch erwartet, voll war. Sehr schade, denn zum Lunch werde ich hier nicht hingehen können, wenn ich schon so lange auf einen Tee warten soll. Bitte stellt doch zumindest zu Mittag mehr Personal ein! Der Laden an sich ist ja wunderschön.

I was staying in a flat just in front of this place. Therefore I decided to give it a go (firstly because of wifi), then because of the "sandwich" they made. Their sandwich were really good and tasty! Everything is fresh and natural, amazing cold pressed juices too. And for gluten and lactose intolerant, this place is made for you! The negative point is that sometimes the waitress made some stuff wrong, I asked for a soy-milk coffee, and it came with cow milk once and lactose-free milk the other time, kinda borring, but that was ok.

Please bear in mind that for this review I was thinking I would have Portuguese food, being a Portuguese expat in Berlin. The food and place itself are actually ok, but nothing there (apart from pastel de Nata and bolo de arroz) is even mildly similar to Portuguese food. The prego (basically a garlic nailed steak in a bun) here involves some sort of ragout with vegetables. Tosta (butter cheese and ham) here involves kräuter an rucula... And galão well it's another invention with coffee and milk. Don't get me wrong the food is ok it's just not Portuguese so please don't sell it as such. Voir le carte
