Megan's On The Hill

Beautiful. What a gem! My relatives who visited loved it, and they are both eager to return in the future, just like we will!

Our main courses took 1.5 hours to prepare. I looked on Deliveroo and waiting time was 10-20 minutes! I think they need to reassess their deliveroo strategy because this is unacceptable.

After over two hours food finally arrived. Most of it not warm and seemingly very rushed in the way it was made. We weren't the only table complaining about the excessive wait. Our waiter and others I know from visiting before were apologetic and friendly but the overall experience was very poor. The kitchen obviously can't cope with the number of covers the restaurant offers. Very disappointing and no plans to go back any time soon

The restaurant has a stunning, Instagram-worthy ambiance, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by poor service. It took our server over 30 minutes to take our drink order, and it was a staggering 90 minutes before our main courses arrived. Getting anyone's attention was nearly impossible, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. While the food was decent, it felt overpriced for what it was (but then again, this is London). The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic and perfect for Instagram, but unfortunately, it was completely overshadowed by the terrible service. It took 30 minutes just for our drink orders to be taken, and we had to wait 90 minutes for our food to arrive after that. Getting the attention of the staff was nearly impossible, even though the restaurant wasn't very crowded. The food was decent, but it felt overpriced for what we received (typical for London, I suppose). I won’t be returning due to the exhausting service.

Unfortunately, during this visit, Megan's was extremely busy, and it appeared that they had fewer staff in the kitchen, resulting in some delays with our orders. Our server was new—only three weeks in—and seemed a bit unsure about the menu, the procedures, and basic customer service. However, I spoke to the manager while settling the bill, and they were very helpful. Despite the ups and downs of the evening, I would still highly recommend Megan's in Balham.
