lunch here in juni with a few beer and an English breakfast. a series of tables with large sunshades on the way under the trees. the food was delicious and served immediately. he started a conversation with a local and had a very interesting meal. during my vacation.

Wir sitzen noch hier und essen zu Mittag. Hähnchenbrust auf Paprika mit Sweetpotatoe-Fries, Flammkuchen und Lammrücken. Dazu leckeren Aperolspritz und Schorle. Alles superlecker, netter Service - und es gab Wasser für den Hund :) sehr zu empfehlen und insgesamt eine nette Ecke Berlins.

this is a wonderful place, with a great selection of foods to the breakfast, lunch and dinner. it looks like an old home, books on the walls. loved it. I ate a laugh with Indian dress, very good together. the round cheescake was also wonderful, good care. Normal...prices for such quality. really reclaimed when they are in the opposite. ..die Bölschestrasse an sich ist schon einen Besuch wert....und vorher ein Frühstück (unbedingt reservieren) im Mauna Kea der richtige Beginn für einen Bummel.Das Restaurant hat eine gemütliche Atmosphäre...mehrere kleine Räume.mit kleinen Tischen. Eine vielfältige Speisekarte mit europäischen Frühstücksgerichten; ich hatte das skandinavische Frühstück mit einem Krabbenrührei,Lachs und Lachspraline. Sehr köstlich.Zur Zeit ist die Gemütlichkeit durch Straßenbaulärm eingeschränkt.Deswegen empfiehlt sich ein Tisch in den Innenräumen.

Yes, it's location is not very central, but if you are in the eastern part (and I really mean east as in north) of Berlin, it's totally worth a little bit of a longer commute. The Boelschestrasse is a nice street to take a walk...and the Mueggelsee is around the corner. Just take the S-Bahn to Friedrichshagen and you'll get to see a beautiful spot of Berlin. Whereas the Mauna Kea is good at every time of the day, it's breakfast is outstanding. Sitting in an old bookstore with most walls covered with packed book shelves, adds nicely to the atmosphere. You should always make a reservation, no matter what day of the week. Make sure you bring cash, as no cards are accepted. No need to be worried...

It's hard to get a table here at weekend mornings after Mauna Kea is just that good and the people here know it. The food and atmosphere are worth the reservation though. There are some tables outside where you can watch the goings on...on the Boelsche Street, people getting their sunday rolls from the bakery, families out for an early stroll. It doesn't feel like you're in the big city here, the Boelsche feels more like the main street of a small town holiday resort. Inside there several smaller rather than one big area lined with bookshelves or wine shelves. All in all you feel more like you're in a fancy living room than in a restaurant.
