"Last night on the Moselsteig, before we finish our hike from Trier in Traben-Trabach. We had chosen Kröv as the last station and reserved a room at Hotel Springiersbacher Hof. The hotel radiated a somewhat morbid charm (especially our refurbished bathroom) and could not tempt us to eat in the in-house restaurant. We strolled over the Robert Schumann street and looked at the numerous possibilities for coming. The decision was made on the Reichschenke Zum Ritter Götz, and all the other restaurants were too much in good-bourgeois schnitzelseeligkeit . To turn the rash into the Reichsschenke, the beautiful construction and the fact that after hearing, the majority of all guests were locals. The sight of a particular appetizer gave us the last kick and we kicked in. At first we planned to sit on the terrace and ordered a pils to thirst quench. But that became too cold to my wife and we entered the interior where the female service provided us with a table for two. This restaurant is old! Krumme sloping cover, dark, old wood, a lot of historical decoration, very dark in the entire ambience, but also very cozy! I tried to capture the ambience with a few photos. We felt very comfortable at our table. The homepage gives a very good impression of the house with its pictures, and I can confirm this with it. We felt even more comfortable when we opened the map in a wooden cover. Not the expected heavy German regional-bourgeois cuisine received us, but a rather French prepared regional ingredients. I was very amazed and learned on demand that a French cook is working in the kitchen. Bon, we had a good culinary smell again. The card can be viewed on the HP. The greeting from the kitchen came after our order, a very tasty wilderness. Unfortunately, it was not explained what kind of wild. The appetizer had partly lured us into the place, and they called themselves: Götz 's Wild(e)-Platte. And was announced as an appetizer for two, consisting of smoked deer ham, homemade duck rillette, smoked goose breast, homemade sluice from rabbits at cranberry berry, as well as bread and butter. You hardly believe it, but we had now had 5 days walk behind us through the Moselle valley and adjacent Hunsrück and Eifel behind us and not yet ate any wild. That is why there was a consensus between my wife and me to order this record. We do not regret it, all components excellent, in particular the goose breast and the sülze very fine. That was delicious. My wife then ordered a slightly lighter main course: fresh noodles with fried shrimps, dried tomatoes, fresh rocket and fennel, in homemade chilli-bony oil. I tried a perfectly cooked shrimp and saw a satisfactory wife facing me. She was happy with your choice. I had ordered poultry: Fried chicken Supreme served with fresh grapes, mushrooms and onions in a fine Riesling cream sauce with salt potatoes. The chicken turned out to be a chicken breast. This was well cooked, juicy and certainly not roasted, but cooked in the oven, which you got immensely good. Along with the fruity grape sauce a very tasty dish that I would like to order again if it results. To dessert for my wife a warm chocolate with coeur liquide....the liquid chocolate drew my wife a smile on the face. For me a Crème brûlée caramel et fleur de sel , that was another unexpected highlight of the cuisine of the Reichsschenke. A caramel cream with a distinctly salty note was fumigated at the table to caramelize the sugar. Not yet. I don't have to. A burner produces a better crust. Flambieren does not take long enough to caramelize the sugar enough, a small drop of wormwood on this food. A local steel tank Spätburgunder dry from 2013 from the winery Knodt-Trossen from Kröv accompanied us deliciously through the food. A bottle of water still and two espresso. The service was handled mainly by a lady who apparently served part of your family at the side table. We were included in the family's direct address, yet the warm kind of lady was very nice, and what concerned the course of the service did not give herself any blows. Conclusion: from the outside very rustic, expects a fine French-style kitchen. This was an unexpectedly good evening in the Reichsschenke and here we recommend the house. For 93 EUR a very good PLV. We are happy to return on occasion."
