"Went with my girlfriend and my parents while we were staying in Cinderford. Very nice food, nicely cooked. I had the Balti which had plenty of succulent meat, with chunky veg and a really tasty thick sauce and the portion size was just right. Ive had a lot of curries in my time and this was up there. Service was also very good, the guy who served us was very friendly and accommodating when my girlfriend ordered off menu. We all said how nice our meals were as was evident from our empty plates."

"my friends and I were here recently for two nights. overall the experience was great, golf courses are beautiful and worth a visit. there are however some negative that the group have disappointed eating in sam’s bar is really not great, club sandwich gets probably a 3/10 that sink and cheese toastie swimming in cheese and is extremely sick, it is not difficult to make a decent sandwich so that the chef must go back to the sign board the price of eating is also reflected in the quality. part of the reason why we booked the resort was to use the spa, unfortunately the spa is not existent as it is done, just a head up for all who visit in the summer in the main reception there is a pond from the back that has left a bad smell in the lobby. this has also been filtered through the bar in the lobby that was not ideal the rooms are divided by blocks and unfortunately we have in a block with a henne do, they appreciate that everyone wants to have fun, but it would be great if the resort could separate the hen from quiet golf parties that are somewhat resting before a large round look for beer selection is okay, but bud light and corona have to go on tap. some other positive to note, rooms are beautiful, towels are nice and fluffy and the power of the shower is great. personal also very friendly and not much waiting to be done, always a plus. overall would visit again, but some work to do to make this resort a real deal."

"I remember reading the reviews on Tripadvisor a few years ago and I was almost put off by some of the remarks/comments made about the staff/management and hyperinflated prices. But I thought heck we are going and we can make our own mind up when we got there, and I’m glad I did. I have never looked, 3rd visit and The Old Passage is still going strong. Food, ambience and service has always been brilliant every time we have been be it just the two of us or with friends. If you’re after good food and not afraid to part with your money for a treat then I would say go for it. A well deserved award, keep it up. See you soon."

"Breakfast was lovely and was great meeting up with friends for food and coffee. Staff are very friendly. Would have given them 5* only I had a 1 year old and they don't have highchairs so trying to feed myself and daughter was a bit tough"

"I have been to this restaurant twice before, but not since last summer. I must say that the food was delicious, especially the non-meat dishes. However, tonight's meal was disappointing. Both the meat dishes were inedible - the lamb in the lamb tikka and lamb shashlik was dry and tough. The pilaf had no flavor, such as fennel seeds, and was overly buttery. I know that this restaurant can do much better, so I am very unhappy with my experience. I echo the sentiments of others who have recently given this restaurant a one-star rating and will not be returning."
