"Overall, we believe that L' Osteria di Giovanni is overrated (and over priced for the quality of the food we had)! The ambiance was lovely, however, the smoked duck appetizer was too salty and our filet mignon was tough and didn't have a lot of flavor. We felt a bit rushed and our waiter was just ok (not very friendly). We were looking forward to this dinner but we were very disappointed! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.....there are other places that we ate where the food had much better quality."

We’ve been going to this restaurant for about 15 years, every time we’re in Florence. The food is consistently delicious and the service wonderful. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a great evening of dining!

Giovanni has been one of our favorite restaurants for over a decade. It went through a bad patch towards the end of Covid but we were happy to find that it had regained its excellence. The pici with sausage and kale, carciofi salad, maiolino and cogniglio stuffato were all excellent dishes.
