"I have been to peppered pig a couple of times but years ago and really enjoyed it so suggested we booked to go for a girls meal out. There were 8 of us. The service were very poor, I wouldn’t mind if it were busy but there was only a couple other people in there, quite shocking for a Saturday night. Waited ages for drinks then had to get up and find the waitress to order more drinks, tables were not cleared very well, long blonde hair found in the fish batter. Menu very poor, simple and boring, not the menu it was when I visited a couple of years ago. The cheese board looked like it had been hacked at and huge slabs of cheese were served. The cheese and the fish incidents both happened to my chef friend who owns her own business and she wasn’t very impressed. I won’t be returning, which is a shame because the setting is beautiful. The restaurant has massively gone down hill."

"In the last weeks, my partner and I have used' The Odddfellows times! We didn't plan it that way but once we got the taste for it, we just keep coming back! The first time we went together we ate in. Everything was...spot on: food, drinks, service, presentation when the food arrived and prices are great value for the portions you get too. In view if the covid restrictions and measures they have had to put in place, like many other pubs, they are managing the new pub life' very well and I'm really glad they can. For our latest visits, we ordered take away food instead of eating there, and there is nothing in the take away' version that lets this establishment down. The food quality and taste is the same great one, the presentation in the take-away boxes is still good too! And the convenience of having great food, collecting it and not having to cook when we are spending our evenings redecorating the house is a real bonus. You couldn't wish or ask for a better pub food menu owners staff service price combo!... And we will keep returning!"

"I've actually worked at 3 different take aways in my younger days. I need to say, this establishment is run with professionalism and precision given the number of orders they put out. I've ordered 6/8 times, I find my food always tastes exactly the same, which shows consistent receipies and pride of work. The food prep area is fully customer visible and is immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and work well as a team. All in all a great experience. A+A+A+ Vegetarian options: All food is excellent"

"My stay was a delight. On arrival our room was not quite ready so we were offered complimentary drinks whilst we waited. The room was a little smaller than I expected but did have a huge comfy bed which is all I had hoped for. The room also had a dressing table, mirror, night stand, kettle, tea and coffee supplies but no milk so bring your own if required. There were also no bin bags for rubbish so once again~bring your own! The room we stayed in room 5 also had ample plug sockets 3 double so no having to bring extention leads ect. There is also a small en-suite shower with toilet. I would definitely stay here again but on a lower level due to having a disabled friend with me and a dog our room was up one set of metal stairs which was about 15 steps . There is also a nice sized tv with access to Netflix ect if you have an account. As this is an honest review... some people may be bothered by the sound of the traffic passing by, It can be abit noisy but that never bothered me. On the whole. Clean, comfy and lovely and warm. I will be back : Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"After reading some positive reviews, we decided to visit the Black Dog for Sunday lunch, and we were thrilled with our choice. We both opted for the two-meat option priced just under £18. Our meals arrived on generous plates filled with plenty of quality, delicious meat, along with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, and parsnips. On the side, we were given dishes of mash, vegetables, cauliflower cheese, and a boat of gravy. Everything was incredibly tasty; we couldn't have asked for more. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4."
