L'Esprit Bistrot - Menu

Was searching everywhere for a place for dinner at an agreeable price point. This did not disappoint the osso buco and the house wine was fantastic. Would consider this again! Well done to the waiter who conversed with me in my broken French.

Karine made us feel right at home in this pleasant little resto tucked away in Vaise, an inner suburb of Lyon. We weren't famished, so the choice of several pasta dishes was just right for us, along with the ever-present pot Lyonnais of red wine.

Karine nous a mis à l'aise dans cet agréable petit restaurateur de Vaise, proche banlieue de Lyon. Nous n'avons pas été étonnés, le choix de plusieurs plats de pâtes nous convenait donc parfaitement, ainsi que le pot de vin rouge lyonnais toujours présent.

Le dîner était très bon. Nous avons commencé avec une soupe froide au curry aux herbes qui était intéressante. Mais les canards étaient excellents. Les goudrons de bœuf avec salade et frites étaient délicieux tout comme la spécificité du veau. Si vous n'aimez pas aller ou prendre le funiculaire... la partie basse de la ville est un endroit génial.

this is a nioe bistro (quite new I've been told) we have been on a wednesday evening it was quite empty, so we had a very personal service. They put lot of emphasis in their menue, where they aquire meat, cheese, bread, wine, ......(from the top producers or retailers of Lyon). Food was great, not heavy (a risk in Lyon ; ) and value for money was good. Has my recommendation for a more informal bussines lunch or dinner.

We passed this restaurant in the beginning of the evening looking for a place to eat with was open around 19:00. We stepped in and were helped very enthusiastic. Within a minute we knew we were at the right place to have a great dinner. The owner helped us and told us they used to be a restaurant primarairy for lunch, but creating nice dinners is his passion as well. Our French isn't really good, but this was well compensated by his English wich was real good. He translated almost the whole menu, explaining including the origin of the ingredients. You could taste and feel the passion in the food, all for a reasonable price.
