This restaurant is well worth a visit, the food is amazing value and the wine is also good. It's hard to find a better restaurant in this area for the value. The serve was also good! Try it !!

We were hunting for a place to eat and found this gem. It was just so good. Nice attentive staff who were pleasant throughout. It makes such a difference. The food was great. Stupidly, I ordered steak, and French beef is notoriously bad - mine was dreadful. However everybody else at my table (there were 11 of us) ate well, and the atmosphere was pleasant and the overall food good. The waitress treated us to a lecture about how good French food is - why do they think that? She even announced that in England we eat eel with mint sauce !!!! Bless. Voir le carte

This restaurant has a pleasant patio area and as it was a warm evening we chose a table outside. The menu was not extensive but I had no difficulty in finding something. My starter was a gratin dish of leeks and scallops which was extremely good followed by a seafood brochette. The cooking was adequate but certainly not exceptional and the service was very good. With a small carafe of wine the bill came to 46 euros which I thought was good value overall.

Nous avons visité ce restaurant pour le dîner avec deux amis venant du Royaume-Uni. Le service était rapide et amical, et notre serveuse était très patiente alors que nous commandions en français très médiocre en essayant d'expliquer qu'une de nous avait des intolérances alimentaires à certains ingrédients. Ils ont adapté les plats pour elle de manière excellente et nous avons eu un repas fabuleux. Le filet de bœuf coupait comme du beurre! C'est une très belle brasserie avec un très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Nous séjournions dans le quartier et la proximité nous a séduits à essayer ce restaurant. Nous n'avons pas été déçus. À un prix raisonnable et joliment préparé, notre dîner était plus qu'acceptable. Un intérieur moderne et décontracté avec une cuisine traditionnelle et un patron attentif étaient complétés par un service sans prétention. L'entrée d'escargots gratinés était savoureuse tout comme le plat principal de salade périgourdine. Mon dessert sabayon aux fruits était un vrai régal. Je recommanderais certainement une visite ici. Having enjoyed lunch at this restaurant I had been wanting to visit for an evening meal for some time, but as we run a Chambres D'Hotes in Saintes evenings out are rare! The menu had a good choice of starters, mains and desserts, the option being for 2 or 3 courses. As with our previous visit the food was really very good. My partners steak 'cut like butter' and my braised lamb shank was moist and tender. We opted for desserts also this time and they did not disappoint. A very nice brasserie with a lovely terrace under the Tilliul (Linden) tree.

Nous avons fait une halte sur le chemin du retour vers Cognac, après une journée passée à la côte. Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux de la part du personnel enthousiaste, et avons dégusté un excellent menu du jour. J'ai savouré une succulente souris d'agneau avec une sélection de légumes et de pommes de terre, tandis que mon partenaire a opté pour du bœuf - un choix inhabituel, cependant, elle a beaucoup apprécié. Les desserts étaient merveilleux et la liste des vins était bonne et peu coûteuse. Un service excellent par des personnes chaleureuses et affables. Une expérience vraiment agréable, - que nous revisiterons lors de notre prochaine visite à Saintes.

We wanted to try this Brasserie since it changed ownership, as we live on the same side of The Charente River and it is good to support restaurants on this side of town which might otherwise be overlooked. We enjoyed a superb lunch, correctly priced. We both opted for Salad de Landais for starters...I chose the Fillet de Bar for main and my partner had the Confit de Canard. All dishes were beautifully presented (My fish was delicious and cooked to perfection) and served with a duo of purees and vegetables and delicious sauces. The service was friendly and efficient.
