"We chose this restaurant as it looked inviting and the menu was extensive. We reserved a table for 8pm on a Saturday night but when we arrived they had no other customers. We should have taken that as warning! Initially the waiter was attentive and we ordered an aperitif, which came with no nuts or olives, which we are accustomed to, having lived in France for 15 years. Our food arrived and I had to request 2 glasses of wine as we had no drinks other than water. So the food.... I ordered moules/frites. The mussels were good and the chips home cooked which were great. However my husband 's steak, which he had requested as 'well done ' was stringy, fatty and raw in places. At no point were we asked if the meal was to our liking so when the plates were cleared we explained how awful the steak was and that it was mainly inedible. The waiter was apologetic but we were still given the bill for the full amount, which we reluctantly paid. I explained to the waiter, in French, that we have lived in France for 15 years and that was the worst steak we have been served. He looked surprised that we were not Brits on holiday and that we might actually know something about French cuisine. At no point did the chef come to speak to us. Just propped himself against the bar and looked indifferent to our complaints. We do not recommend!"

Stumbled across this restaurant walking around Sarlat. I had scallops and my husband ate the crab for starters. Both were delicious. Main course although very tasty were a bit big and slightly over facing. Overall tasty meal and would go back.

Upstairs dining on a quieter street away from the patio scene. We had a very good meal with wine and good service for 68Euros. A welcome variation with options like crab mousse and lamb shanks... I like duck but was happy to dive into the lamb. Would go back again

Well, it was a hot day and we loved the look of this place so we stopped in after lunch time was over. There was a table of men enjoying a bottle of wine, and we asked for drinks. The owner/bartender (not sure which) welcomed us and poured us beers and wine and was so extremely friendly we figured we’d come back for dinner. But the terrible reviews scared us away.

Nice place, with a small cosy terrace but the food was very bad. We took the menu and the only good things were the uncooked product (fois gras was okay and wine) but everything else was bad, meat over cooked, dry, sauces too salty, parmentier too oily, duck didn't taste duck... They just destroy the good products they have in the region. Really disappointed with this restaurant.

We loved this place and its quirky food; they used to set light to rosemary underneath your duck. But this was an understandably empty restaurant not measuring up to former glory. When things are crossed off the menu and you are the only ones there and cant get what starter or wine you ask for it's a potential problem. That said my starter was polenta, I think, in a fish shellfish soup that was very tasty and lamb shank nice, but potatoes looked a bit like a brown pie! Didn't taste too bad to be fair.

If you hate someone then send them here for dinner. If you are a patient person wishing to help others then please plead with the owner to hire a chef and treat food with respect. We ate here a few days ago and it was a complete disaster. The food was terrible, even the tap water tasted off. All of the vegetables which were deemed Tuscan were all pickled no self respecting Italian would ever make a salad like they did not an omelette swimming in olive oil the bread was okay though. We were so happy to leave.

We found this restaurant in our guide book and decided to try, among a number of other places that are in Sarlat. Very good choice! We had the menu for 21€ and baby menu for 10.50€. Excellent tomatoes filled with special mixture of bread, foie gras and spices; local ham; main courses lamb and canard (also for the child). Dessert included: interesting tiramisu with strawberries; local cheese and ice cream. Overall, 72.50€ including a good ref wine from Bergerac, recommended by the owner. Service very friendly, polite and professional. We had dinner in a small internal court in an old building; nice location. Overall, top score!

We both had menu. The price was 21 euro each. I tried to order the merlot at 19 one of the low cost bottles of wine. However the waiter, an older gentleman, recommended a local Cabernet Sauvignon from Chateau Belingard at the same price. Very good recommendation. My menu was wonderful while my wife’s was fine. So I gave a 5 vs her 4 stars. I had the foie gras then the lamb and then the cream brûlée? The question is not about the spelling but I may not have the item correct The foie gras was fine and had a nice salad to go with it. Using the bread made it very tasty. The lamb was wonderful. The sauce was just a little sweet. We both loved it. The cooking was perfect. Drop off the bone but ver...
