"I was already in Frankfurt for a couple of years (about 8 years ago) when I tried this restaurant first time. Given the modest exterior of the restaurant (and my lack of experinence with Ethiopian food in those days) I did not imagine what I will discover here. Since than I have been visitng this restaurant for about 8 years and I can say that this is the best African restaurant (and one of the best restaurants) I have ever tried (although I have tried many). The quality of the food, the kindness of the owners (an Ethiopian couple) and the atmosphere of the place is exceptional. There are both vegetarian dishes and dishes with meat and the owner of the restaurant can prepare it as spicy or mild as you wish. One of my favourites is "Mesir Wott", a dish with lentils, ethiopian bread (injera), some vegetables and a souce with a wonderful, red coloured spice combination, which must be a secret of the owner's family. I have been looking for this taste in Ethiopian restaurants in other countries as well (US, UK, Hungary) but it was never nearly as tasty as it is in this restaurant.The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. The restaurant has nice decoration with warm colours and authentic Ethiopian paintings and art objects. There are usually some gentle African tunes in the background (not too loud) that I also like. I think that the lovely couple who owns the restaurant really created the atmosphere of a proper family restaurant. I find it rare. The prices are moderate, especially considering that there is no compromise in the quality of the ingredients. Some of the spices and a special, dark, healthy type of grain is imported directly from Africa. This is a big difference compared to most other African restaurants in Frankfurt that simply use wheat..."

The restaurant is not so beautiful from the outside, painted and decorated in earthy tones. Very cozy. The waiter was super friendly and the African beer delicious. The food is simple but tastes good. Price/performance is great. You're welcome.

I've been coming here for 32 years and tastes wonderful every time. Although it is not every day, every week or every month, I visit Lalibela as often it is possible The food is fresh and so delicious, the hygiene is also true, the service is great and the best are the two owners I have won in the years and see my aunt and uncle

We've been coming back with friends for years and it just tastes great and you always feel welcome! Even our children love it here... The armchairs are very cozy and the distance between the tables I find especially adequate. There you don't get the feeling of eating sardines in the can evening.The services are always uncommon and extremely binding. This makes us a lot of pleasure every visit.The place is always fine and we had a wonderful evening. Try this great cooking room, on the menu there is something in the directive for everyone.

I experienced this restaurant a few hours ago. I write this review still under the sensation of happiness provided by the food, the spices, the wine, the atmosphere.. It was unexpected and for this reason even more unforgetable. If you never tried Ethiopian food, please forget any prejudice you may have and give this place a try. It is very simple, you don't say much for the outdoor (or even the indoor - it was completely empty while I was there, but it was a monday late afternoon). But it is very cozy, the owner himself suggested me what to drink and eat, and the food was delicious.. for the wine I tasted a shiraz from South Africa.
