"Although not inside the wall or in downtown Lucca, the La Casina delle Rose is a wonderful restaurant to eat at. There is a centuries old aqueduct running next to the restaurant and it is a terrific view both in the daytime and at night. The restaurant was packed, both outside and inside on the Friday night we were there. Service was good, the staff (a mixed bag of younger and older service folks) was on their game and handled the large crowd of clients with skill and a minimum of downtime. The food was excellent, and for Lucca, priced quite reasonably. My steak was so tender I cut it with a fork. The pasta dishes were also excellent as was the vino roso house wine. Definitely a do again especially with guests arriving in early September. jr"

Visited this restaurant twice, lunch and dinner Lunch. Very good value, quality very good for the price especially pizza and liver the latter being well seasoned Dinner, abundant prima pasta which was average but the sea bass was excellent. I would not recommend the mixed fried fish. It is a very busy restaurant both at lunch and dinner so does become very hot, the service is professional and friendly within the limitations of time. Would visit again for a well priced reasonable meal.
