We had a nice dinner at this place. It is a nice deli/wine store that also serves very good food. Ate outside and had very good pasta and meat dishes. There are many restaurants along this pedestrian road, but I think this one is among the best. I would definitely return. Dinner was reasonable for two and service was also good.

Stopped off for a drink here before dinner and got a great surprise. Locally produced 2017 oaked Chardonnay poured from a Coravin, icy chilled on a boiling hot afternoon; a small plate of excellent cheeses, beetroot barolo boudin, ham and bread. Many people prefer to sit outside, but to fully appreciate this restaurant go through the shop into a small room with about eight tables. The kitchen is next door and you can admire the chef at work. My smoked salmon starter was delicious chunks rather than thin slices and the pasta was superb. My wife enjoyed her dishes too. The wine list was comprehensive but on the recommendation of our waitress we tried a reasonably priced local white. It was excellent. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

We called into this Bar/Restaurant for a drink and some light food. The bar was located down one of the lane ways off the Via Porta Pretoria backing onto the Roman Amphitheatre. The bar appears to be part of the Bottega Degli Antichi Sapori which fronted onto Via Porta Pretoria a few doors down from the lane way. We had visited the Bottega a couple of days before and thought that it was a very good delicatessen. There was a lovely courtyard out the back and we thought we recognised the house in front of us as that occupied by Rocco Schiavone in the Ice Cold Murder TV series. On Mondays, this group serves lunch in a space called Le Bar a Vin up the street. The waiter gave me a glass of lovely Valdostan white wine, and I sipped and looked at the amphitheater ruins. My first course was Seupa , but I kind of misunderstood the dish. It 's croutons (not out of a bag) with onions and greens in a dark broth topped with local cheese. It was fantastic. But I ordered lamb chops and potato puré, also great but not an ideal pairing (my fault). Everyone was very nice to me, and to everyone I saw them interact with including some really pushy/confused tourists.
