It's hard to find cheap and cheerful as well as authentic Japanese takeaways around this area.

Simply spectacular Japanese food. Every single thing I tried was the best I've had, and I've been in many, many Japanese restaurants. Top quality!!

we took takr away yo eating in the park next to st pauls cathedrale. the experience of the selection to pay was excellent and the service was great. food quality was excellent

while I would agree that £20 is too low for 2 (which it is always for decent sushi in the center of london), the quality is excellent, the service attentive and the space nice and cozy

First time sushi for me so I cannot compare, but I did enjoy it. Tried salmon, tuna, and eel as well as some beef on rice and vegetables. Really tasty! I even liked the Wasabi. Prices are fine for dinner in London. The staff was nice as well. Just one thing, downstairs is limited mobile reception and we couldn't find wifi.

I love this place. For starters, back in my banking days I used to lunch at the belt almost every single days. These days, whenever I’m in London, I stop by to remind myself how great Kurumaya is. Competent chefs, tastiest dishes and a good selection of wines. Love the boat presentation! Loyal customer here, will keep going back. AAA !!

it is one of the hidden gems of the city. one of my favorite places to have ingenious sushi with very cozy ambiente, a possibility to sit with folded beinen, have this beautiful warm evening with their favorite or friends. if they were lucky to be served by samantha, not only would their day be made, but kurumaya will also be their favourite place.

when I was in an evening and in the city that needed a bite to eat, I thought first there was a lot of sins; I'm sorry to enjoy food. Unfortunately, it seemed like many places created a block full or otherwise beyond the budgetary constraints. we finally found a place that had some tables. in an additional piece of luck it served what we both secretly hoped, nihon tabemono (Japanese food.)

An enjoyable meal. We were looking for a place to have dinner after wandering about One New Change at St Pauls and found the restaurant when searching on the mobile. There's a sushi bar at ground level and the restaurant was in the basement. There was a lot on the menu and after spending a considerable time deciding, we ordered a soft shell crab maki (crispy and generous), sea urchin (wasn't crunchy), grilled eel, a herbally chicken, beef and quail egg broth (warmingly nice on a cold rainy evening), a refreshing sea weed salad (can't recall the name) and mochi for dessert.
