"Krua Thai in Karlsruhe is in-between an "imbiss" and a real restaurant. It is not at the upper-end level of, for example, Thai Thaani in Stuttgart, which is quite an upscale Thai establishment. First, its location. Passagehof is a mostly pedestrian lane right in the heart of Karlsruhe's business and shopping district, which is also to some extent residential. The entire street is no more than 200 meters long. There must be at least a dozen eating places along the way, most with tables outside. Krua Thai, for example, is stuck in the middle of a trio of places, one Chinese and one "Oriental". In fact, in summer, one has to be careful, if eating outside, to choose a table "assigned" to the desired restaurant. There were many Thai people eating, which was a good sign. We asked for green curry chicken, red curry duck, and a place of wide noodles sauteed with beef and veggies. Staff, who spoke English, were great. The meal came within about 10 minutes, and it was very very good, but not as spicy as we had wanted and had asked for it to be. Germans just can't take Thai spicy. Anyhow, it was fine as-is, and the shady setting outdoors was pleasant and convivial in the 95-degree heat! The menu had more esoteric things which we would try on our next visit to Karsruhe, who knows when?"

the kitchen is optimal. because it is worth waiting sometimes if the service occupation is not optimal...very recommended for Thai lovers. there is even good drinkable white wine!

it was well visited and we have been able to find another place in the outdoor area. the service was nice and fast. the food was delicious and also on special requests (I don't get paprika) was excellently reacted and offered to me an old-fashioned treat.I will gladly go to dinner again.

I have been here often because of the very authentic and very well prepared Thai food. in particular, the "without glutamate" promise has lured me, because the Thai cuisine usually does not need this and I am allergic to it. Meanwhile, however, almost every dish is prepared with glutamat, which I feel as very negatiw and the krua thai can never visit again.The service was always growing through. in a larger group can already sweep 15 minutes from the first to the last teller on the table.
