"Regarding Turkish food I like Iskender (beef slices with tomato, bread and yogurt). When walking through the streets of Siegen on the lookout for a nice restaurant, (we had a planned stop-over in Siegen) we encountered the restaurant "Istanbul Sofra". At first sight the restaurant looks like a fast food joint (it has a take-away counter) but it is a full service restaurant with a splendid space at the river with outdoor tables. As obviously the restaurant was frequented by people with Turkish roots, we decided to join and try the Iskender. I can say the Iskender was very tasty, prepared with quality beef and as the weather was splendid, we had a good time. Prices are moderate, but the service was a bit bumbling. Imagine the had to tell us they ran out of tea! In a Turkish restaurant! But generally speaking Istanbul Sofra has earned my four point rating. Well done."
